The thing I remember about that 2004 tsunami was this British 10 year old girl who had just learned the signs of a tsunami in geology class recently and tried to warn everyone, no one believed her at first but her dad saw how panicked she was and decided to mention it to some security guy who was Japanese and knew a bit about tsunamis and took it more seriously and was able to evacuate the beach and it ended up saving like a couple hundred people.
