In a competency-based system, students move ahead when they've mastered content, not when they've reached a certain birthday or endured the required hours in a classroom.

Whenever I failed a competency it made me give up more and more on school. We have so many test's it's stressful. I failed one competency and was told I failed the class due to it. I give up. I failed all ninth grade over not being competent in certain areas of study. I used to love coming to school now I just skip classes and don't come sometimes, because I can't do anything.

That's Neoliberalism. We need to change a lot in this world. And education is probably the number 1 thing

@@Ivanmaradonaaa I don't think you know what that term means. Neoliberalism is a difficult term that deals specifically with economic ideas about free markets. Neoliberalism is characterized by free market trade, deregulation of financial markets, privatization, individualisation, and the shift away from state welfare provision.

All students are held at the same standards which I agree with but yet again not all learn at the same pace. So they may not understand.
