The Brazilian herd is formed mainly by zebu cattle, and among them, we can consider the Nellore breed as the most widespread beef breed. Its attributes such as resistance to parasites, adaptation to climate and vegetation, make it one of the most hardy breeds. In Brazil, the breed underwent intense genetic improvement, being much more productive than the initially imported animals.
