Da quando Dida commise quell'errore in Leeds-Milan 1-0, valevole per il secondo turno della prima fase a gironi della UEFA Champions League 2000/01, gli organi di stampa, soprattutto sportiva, non furono così teneri nei confronti del portiere brasiliano, il quale dovette dimostrare, a seguire, il proprio valore affinché riconquistasse la fiducia, in particolar modo nei confronti dei tifosi del Milan. Ricordo anche l'errore in un Real Madrid-Milan del 21 ottobre 2009, vinto dai rossoneri per 3 a 2, dopo che questi erano passati in svantaggio proprio a causa di un "infortunio" del calciatore con la maglia numero 1. Chi è stato esente da errori nella vita ? Credo nessuno. E quante sono state le sue prodezze che vanno ricordate e che hanno portato il Milan a tanti successi, rispetto agli errori importanti che ha potuto commettere ? Direi che il confronto tra i numeri "positivi" e quelli "negativi", legati a Nelson, non regge. Oltre a essere stato un ottimo e valoroso professionista, ha dimostrato di esserlo anche al di fuori del terreno di gioco. Chapeau. Da un semplice appassionato di calcio.

from a POSITIONING aspect, Dida is the best goal keeper I have ever seen play in Serie A since I was born. I was born in 1982 and didn't see Zoff at his best and I have tremendous respect for Buffon, Pagluica, Zenga, Rossi etc etc, but from a POSITIONING aspect, Dida was number one. 90 percent of the time, he made a lot of saves without even stretching himself. He would just be in the right place in the right time. Unfortunately after the flare incident he wasn't the same but he was a champion.

Champions league Quarter Final 2004-05 vs Inter in the first leg. The game Milan won 2-0. You can literally make an entire compilation of amazing Dida saves just from that game. He made some saves on Sinisa Mihajlovic that were simply out of this world. Some of which should be in this video.

If you watch any compilation of Neuer, you will see that he makes these kinds of saves, along with better ones, along with revolutionizing a goalkeeping role. There's a reason, Bayern Munich, the best team in the World at the time wanted him. Not because he was "Meh", but because he single handedly dragged Schalke to the Semi-final in 2011. So what, Neuer had a great defence? What about the fact that Dida had a defensive line of Maldini, Cafu, Kaladze, Costacurta, Stam or even Nesta? All of whome better than Neuer's back line. Neuer is a much more consistent goalkeeper than Dida. Milan fans themselves tend to slightly mock Dida for his inconsistencies. Look at what happened in 2004-05 Champions Final vs Liverpool. 2/3 goals that Liverpool scored, Dida fucked up on. You bring up 2 matches that Neuer concedes. Are you expecting him to save every shot? So apperently if you concede a goal or two during a match, you're shit. How about you mention Neuer's heroics during the entirety of World Cup in Brazil. The entire Champions League tournament in 2010-11 or 2012-13? Where are those mentions. Oh and, when Bayern lost to Barcelona 3-0, Neuer kept Bayern from losing 6-0. He had a great performance until the 70th minute where the defence completely collapsed on him. So no, Neuer's only attribute is not just "sweeping". He's a revolutionary keeper. There's a reason people consider him up with the greatest of all time. There's a reason he was nominated for the ballon d'or in 2014. Stop being a special snowflake and look at the facts. Neuer towers over Dida.

You have reason. Dida was a fantastic player from 2003-2005, the best goalkeeper in the world, for my personal opinion, better than Buffon. When he played in Brazil, he was great too. After 2005 he had some injuries and he have had some errors in importants matches. But, i like this goalkeeper! ;)
