Espectacular! Thanks, @Philosophy Overdose. Do you have anything more on Goodman? I enjoyed the two lectures in your channel and the extended interview from which you took this nice piece. I wonder if there is something on dispositions, counterfactuals and causation as well, whether Goodman's or someone else's.

Goodman has influenced me profoundly and went through many years thinking over areas in which I could agree with him. I don't tend to put so much attention to his symbol theory, though, but in the way in which we discursively communicate art via descriptions. Pictures don't represent the same way as Goodman frames the function of a symbol. In my view, descriptive utterances are ways in which pictures present themselves to us; this would mean that there is no epistemic distinction between unicorns and men under an artistic context. There's certainly overlap with his classification of symbolic modes of reference.
