My auntie twin and uncle tony stayed in Richmond for a few years i remember staying with them what i found amazing when actually coming in to nelson was the 3d picture painted on a building on the waterfront tyvm for sharing.

Very familiar sight for me - I followed this route twice a day travelling from Motueka to Nelson and back while working at the Nelson Library in the late 1980s.

Wow..... Amazing video. As if they knew one day it would all be built out. Incredible. I remember the road used to be full in the morning going to town before the wakatu drive.

Wow! Waimea College hosted the 1986 New Zealand Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships that I lined up in. Racing for Dargaville High School, 42nd Senior Girls. First time I have seen it on a screen after all these years 😮!!

way back when I was about 9, we were going to the boulderbank (we own the batch closest to the lighthouse) and grandad said be grateful, that smell used to go all the way past stoke in the early days !!!!

We used to do the ton (160 kph) down that stretch from Stoke to Richmond 😎 back when there was little traffic on Nelson roads

George was a car painter at the honda car assembly plant. He used to work the weekends at BP. He went on to owning his own petrol station on corner of parkers rd and murati street. Excellent car painter.
