Well, these are boot covers. They cover the top and sides of your boots to water runs over them. They are open on the bottom heel area and if you step in a puddle of 3" the water will go 3" up ... if you have tall boots, you should be fine... It all depends on your footwear.

@@Nelsonriggusa yeah but that defeats the purpose of the rain gators. The idea is to keep the boot dry not partially. LOL That's like making a rain jacket or pants that only covers half of your body or pants and the bottom half gets wet but not to worry the top half is dry. Also trust me if you get caught in a good rain fall these gators are useless. My boots were soaked in one hour of rain from the water splashing up into them so bad you would think I didn't have any on. You need gators that have a fully closed sole. I have seen them before

Do not buy any rain gator that has an open seal. I have a set and git caught in a rain fall, and because of the half opened sole my boots got soaked from the water splashing up from both wheels so bad it took 2 days for them to dry. Unless the soles are fully closed (I've seen a pair one here with closed soles) unless they are fully closed they are useless. Water will find a way into your gators and the harder the rainfall the more you will get soaked. Instead I bout a motorcycle boot that is 100% waterproof and can also be worn on non rainy days. Best of both worlds.

Well thank you for your feedback. We have worn these for days on end in the rain without our boots / shoes getting wet. Waterproof boots are great unless you are in HOT weather, then a good vented boot is nice and these are the insurance.
