Excellent player. He comes from Serbia. He might cause you pain. Back in '98/99 I was working for an EC/EU agency supporting post-war returns to Croatia. One of our cases was a lovely, very elderly blind woman who lived alone in a tiny cottage in the middle of nowhere, in what were then acres and acres of snow and frozen water. She spoke very fondly of a teenage grandson who was a youth player at Red Star. She had lots of stories about him. Only many years later when NV went to Man Utd did it click that it may have been him she was speaking of. Vidić is not a rare name in those parts, but many of her stories add up... Ironic (given the surname) that she was blind. But she chopped the wood and split the kindling for her own stove and still had all her fingers. She must now be long dead, but I do wonder whether she was telling us wonderful tales of a young Nemanja. 😊
