You are the best teacher of photoshop on youtube, because you explain not only quick tips like what value of certain fader to set, but you explain all the theory behind that. That is the most important. I use photoshop for more than 7 years but still learn a bunch of new stuff by watching your videos. Keep doing good work in the future. Please make more videos about Photo manipulation like Compositing images, creating depth, match light and shadows in order to achive realistic look. A have already watched almost all your videos and only thing i have to say is THANKS! Pozdrav iz Crne Gore !

I am only in first half of the tutorial and I need to say: "Thank you!" I did not know all possibilities of FS and this examples - straightening of blankets,... wow. I always screaming during retouching of newborn photos and all of the folds in the blanket. I definetely need to try FS for that job. It seams even better and faster method like clone stamp at its own. The things goes even better in 4th example. Thank you. ;)

You explain why it works! Other videos just say "now do this, now do this" but never explain the underlying why it works. When I understand why it works it is much easier for me to remember how to do it and also to invent variations. Question: I have heard that the "apply image parameters" are very different for 8 bit vs 16 bit images. I usually edit 16 bit. Were you editing 16 bit or 8 bit? Do you understand why the parameters might be different for 8 bit vs 16 bit? Thanks!
@NemanjaSekulic
@NemanjaSekulic 6 жыл бұрын
Well they say that it is different. But I didn't noticed. Try exactly the same settings on 8 and 16 bit images and see for yourself if there is a difference 😉

I'm not sure if you said something about the images bits. I mean, in 8bit color depth images the blending mode should be set in Subtract and the offset value to 128 and the invert unchecked With 16 bit color depth, blending mode in Add and offset in 0 and invert checked. Cheers!
@NemanjaSekulic
@NemanjaSekulic 7 жыл бұрын
David Christian Duque Gallego Yes, I know that. But do you know why or you just know because somebody told you so? 😊 Try like this in both 8 and 16 bit mode, and let me know the results 😊

Maybe banding effect in 8 bit images?I don't remember very well but I think something like that. Could it be?
@NemanjaSekulic
@NemanjaSekulic 7 жыл бұрын
David Christian Duque Gallego Well, I don't think that is about the banding effect. Banding is there just because there is not enough information in colors to have a smooth transition... If you find it out, let me know 😊 Thanks

Since I've noticed that you also use a graphics tablet, I also noticed that you use the radial pad for increasing/decreasing brush size. Were you aware of the other shortcut available? You start by holding alt, then pressing and holding the mouse right button (which is the top button on the stylus by default), while hovering the stylus left and right (don't press down on the tablet) to adjust your brush size . While moving the stylus up and down as it's hovering also adjusts the hardness. I recently learned and began using this shortcut, which allowed me to free up those radial buttons for other commands. Just thought I'd suggest this shortcut to you in case you weren't aware of it.

Nice tutorial, whats the difference between creating a blank layer between high and low and using clone stamp on high and clone stamp on the blank layer
@NemanjaSekulic
@NemanjaSekulic 4 жыл бұрын
When you work on a layer in between hi and low, you are dealing with low frequency (shapes and colors). When you work on hi, you are dealing with textures. That is the difference.

Very useful Nemanja S. Thank you. Do you have any technique for edge blurring cut out layers in Photoshop? In the years that I have used Photoshop I have been surprised Adobe and third party plugin vendors have not created a filter to do this. Often I have to resort to importing PSD files in to After Effects, and then applying a third party filter made for this purpose.
@NemanjaSekulic
@NemanjaSekulic 7 жыл бұрын
Sorry Peter, I didn't quite understand you. Are you asking for a method to blur edges after you cut out layer from a background?
@petersolomon8894
@petersolomon8894 7 жыл бұрын
Yes Nemanja, that is what I ask. To date I have found no effective way to do this.
@NemanjaSekulic
@NemanjaSekulic 7 жыл бұрын
Peter Solomon Here it is how I do it. After I cut out an object, I load selection of that object by holding ctrl or command and click on the layer, then go to select menu, then to modify, contract and I contract it for one or two pixels, depending of the imge size. Then I invert that selection by pressing shift+ctrl+I, and now I have just an edge selected. Then I just blur that selextion for about one pixel. And that's it. Try it and let me know the results. Hope that you understand me 😊
@petersolomon8894
@petersolomon8894 7 жыл бұрын
Nemanja, Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to explain the way you do this. I will try your method. However, I have to say this is quite a work around. I wonder why in the twenty or so years of Adobe having released Photoshop, that they and participating plugin vendors (Topaz, Tiffen, Digital Anarchy, etc), have not developed a filter to do this?
@NemanjaSekulic
@NemanjaSekulic 7 жыл бұрын
Peter Solomon You can do the same thing via refine edge or select and mask menu. And then just play with sliders.
