wesker hug tech is really really tricky which is why it hasnt been removed, its a frame perfect input, but the wolf hug tech and blight hug tech that are both now gone, were both performed by simply looking downwards while pouncing/rushing, so super easy ​@@MrJP6389

In my opinion they could even remove the Pounce from Wolf if they drastically buffed his tracking. You'd have Vampire for Anti-loop, Wolf for tracking and Bat for mobility. Scent Orbs should spawn more frequently and have a much larger detection range and should even spawn while Survivors stand still or crouch.. just make his tracking better, currently you can hide from the Wolf very easily.. which doesn't make to much sense since it's a Wolf. But the biggest buff would be to give Survivor a petting animation for the Wolf, or belly rubs.

hell no, pounce is as important of tool as hellfire pillar is. hellfire pillar has huge pitfall which is that it cannot go through high walls. that is where wolf form is suppose to be used EXCEPT THAT IS SO SHIT AT HIGH-WALLS THAT IT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING. it also suppose to be good at tracking but again IT IS SO SHIT AS TRACKING that they really need buff wolf form.

Every other ranged killer has an auditory indication that you can hear above chase music and the rest of the games sound, why does Dracula not, especially when he already doesn't make footstep sounds.

Gotta disagree with you Scott. I'm totally Drac-pilled, he's low to mid A tier. Never used the hug tech or the bat exploit, he doesn't need them. The variety with which you can approach loops and chases is what makes him strong and these flat buffs are HUGE. Now you can catch up insanely quickly with Bat after a hit and transform back to one of his attack forms twice as fast. The skill ceiling for both his hellfire and pounce are pretty high, making him very rewarding to play. Give him another chance. 🧛🏻‍♂️

Drac's Hellfire into bat form catch up is a lot stronger now, and the bat form changes actually buffed his map pressure quite a bit. you can get to vaults quicker flying normally and you port to them quicker. I think he's now Nemesis with a side graded tentacle (it has various different uses, but is probably a bit worse) but with much better, more consistent map pressure. if Zombies put in work Nemi is probably better but if they don't I'd say Drac takes the cake now.

I disagree with you. I've had plenty of matches with Drac and I've been downing survivors just fine without the hug tech. Sounded a bit awkward anyway to angle the camera down mid chase just to get off a pounce attack. Sure you might not get them everytime with the pounce the normal way but you can still make up for the time lost with Wolf's tracking ability.

The biggest thing I could think of that they could do to wolf form is include the brown addon to base kit. That gives them the increased sweat ball range. And make the power charge .1 second faster. Since it feels super long rn. It'd make his entire kit amazing This is me being greedy but maybe make hellfire 2.1 instead of 2 as well.

The audio occulsion issue has also made Drac way stronger, half the time you can't hear Hellfire charging up around a corner at all. Right now you basically have to predictively be ready to dodge it.

I was aware of the hug tech but i wasn't using it much because I was mainly focused on the hellfire since i knew it would get removed. A good replacement is what I call the Prowl Tech though some call it the Slide tech. Just move to the side and pre fire your pounce and some survivors won't be able to react in time.

Now, when Traveller's Hat is working, we can say that it takes away around 0.2 seconds of penalty, so it rather useless. And also with new shapeshift cd, Clocktower gear reduse 2.5 seconds to 2.25 seconds. Debatable if it needs to be used too tbh

The way I see it Human form is the best at chase at most loops, Wolf form’s primarily good for tracking hidden survivors and closing distance (since it moves faster than base speed with the orbs) and can sometimes break pallets easily, and Bat form is good for long distance map traversal and hopefully getting close with stealth before coming out of it. Along those lines I also think some people underestimate the value of the scent orbs on Wolf for rooting out survivors, it hurts my soul a bit when I’m watching a streamer play Dracula and they are wandering around in human form looking for someone who’s hiding. The scent orbs make it very difficult to hide from the wolf, basically my thinking is if you’re not actually already in chase with someone in close range then you should be in wolf form, not human form, and mainly just use the human form to secure the down when they actually get to a tile where you’ll want to use fire. (In fact, if you’re in a dead zone, the wolf can probably secure a hit just as quickly if not more so than the human because of its increased movement speed.)

As someone who’s basically just played dracula since his release, the wolf hug tech to me isn’t all that big an L cus I hardly ever use wolf form anyway. I played wesker a lot so I thought it’d be good to use but it just always winds up being more of a hindrance to use in any meaningful way. I make full use of hellfire and bat form but the wolf form sorta feels meh to me. I can understand why some Dracula players more skilled than I may be sad to lose the hug tech though

I still will die on the hill that Nemesis’ speed boost is just a bug they never fixed. Weaker doesn’t give one if he throws a survivor and they don’t hit a wall if memory serves, which also applies base infection without actually injuring. Plague doesn’t if a survivor becomes broken by her non-corrupt purge, and it actually DOES hurt survivors. I believe there’s another one but I forget who it would be

Wolf form is significantly less viable now and I hate that they got rid of his hug tech. You needed to look down for it to work which practically blinded you from the survivor you were chasing. They should’ve at least reduced the charge time for his pounce, be it base kit or with an add on for momentary, risky plays. Now the form is severely limited by tiles it’s viable on.

Wait so Dracula is supposed to be a chase killer, but we're buffing his mobility and thus his map pressure, but we're not going to balance it by nerfing Wolf Forms unreasonably overpowered haste (it shouldn't gain bloodlust if it gains haste from scent orbs, that's broken), or the fact that Hellfire is a ranged attack that you effectively cannot hear coming while in a chase due to chase music's obnoxious volume + the cacophony of sounds made from generator sounds, environmental sounds, survivor breathing, footsteps... BHVR has fully committed to killer-sidedness, it used to be you'd make one area stronger while adjusting another area so there's balance to it, now its just straight up buffs across the board for everyone.

Both hug techs for wolf and chucky were about the same difficulty to use. Wolf got the boot because behavior only recently started cracking down on hug tech again and dracula was new, so it was on their radar. They probably don’t even remember that chucky has a hug tech, but once they do you be sure it’s going bye bye the very next patch

I'm sorry but I think removing hug tech is not anywhere close to turning this into a "sidegrade", like sure you can argue it limits the skill ceiling and fun of the killer but broadly that's really only going to affect the most seasoned players who would be attempting the hug techs in the first place. In my experience, Wolf form is probably the least used of his forms even with hug tech because it's not easy to pull off. But now, more average players get to use Bat form to return to hook to tunnel even more now.

Idrc about how difficult wesker hug is, it goes both ways, using his questionably good actual chase power will always be hindered by situations where “I could actually use my power here if I could do my unnecessarily frame perfect tech” could be applied. For other hugs they’ve all been committed plays that are still readable with survivor knowledge, not all survivor gameplay is reactionary, if you make the right educated guess you can chase longer. Too easy, applies to every version of hug we’ve seen bar some specific addon combos on blight (which is all the nerfs should’ve targeted). So hug removal blatantly removes player choice and expression and in some cases just bricks the power, goodbye Dracula dog you won’t be missed.

thankfully they didnt need a whole year to fix thse exploits. I reported 2 players I went against who were abusing this bat hellfire exploit.

I'm glad they removed the hug tech from Wolf. Clearly unintended, and if it works it feels ridiculous for the survivor. There is skill in it like most things, but it's just not healthy for gameplay even if it adds a layer of complexity to master. And it opens up possibilities for buffs that more players benefit from. I've never liked them especially when they're 'better' than normal mastery of the killer, since you tend to become reliant on them rather than experimenting in other directions. I think these changes will make Dracula better in the long term, it might even be a straight buff because bat mode and transformations felt clunky at times.
