Just to clear things up, i have seen a tone of comments saying that it needs painted and its rusty, the coaster is painted to look rusty.
@jackbaker44599 жыл бұрын
It's literally one of the smoothest coasters ever :3 I thought it was even smoother than Air! First invert coaster experience was Air, second Nemesis, at 10! Loved it! Had a lot of anxiety queuing for Oblivion but loved that too in the end! Since then I've braved Saw and vertical drops I fucking love! Still though, always will be a B&M Multi-Inverted suspended coaster fan, and it's thanks to Nemesis :3

People are saying that. Clearly one can tell the rust look is for the ride. No park of this caliber would let a coaster go this long without painting it.

A group of us went to Alton Towers shortly after this ride was opened, it was raining heavily and probably out of season I can't remember, but there was barely anyone at the park. We must have ridden it 10 times or more in a row because you could simply get off and then run around and get back on. There was practically no waiting in line. Even though the weather was shitty, it was one of the best days I had as a teenager. Did the same thing with the Corkscrew too.

Man Beadle Exact thing happened to me .. Well kind of ... Yesterday I went alton towers and literally the longest wait I had to get on a ride was 15 mins ( I'm not even joking ! ) ... Me and my mum went on Nemisis twice in a row with about a 2 min wait to get on ! Tuesday is a great day to go !!!

+Abigail Waller I went on a Monday last week or so, and we hardly had to queue! I didn't know that I was tall enough to go on these rides but it was SO FUN. The line for the monorail made it seem really busy but it was hardly busy at all. The longest we had to queue for was about 2 MINUTES. (I might of had to wait longer but I can't remember 😂) Next time I go I'm going on Nemesis, Oblivion, Rita, Sonic Spinball, Air, Enterprise and other stuff because it was so good we got tickets to go again so we are going next week if possible. It was 97 QUID for just ME and my BROTHER, so £60 is a good deal for the whole family. IM SO EXCITED OMG

Although probably a curse initially, that height limit seems to have caused some really awesome rides that do a lot of interaction with the ground.
@visionist76 жыл бұрын
John Ferguson begs the question though, how long can they keep pumping out innovative rides which don't rely on height? It's like a car; There's No Replacement For Displacement. Small engines can never be as satisfying as large ones no matter how much crazy turbo tech you throw at them. It's just not the same. Applies to coasters too. Height & first drop are the bread & butter of coaster IMO
@asjadnaqvi30886 жыл бұрын
not really...nemseis is pretty high up..its just dug in to the ground beacause theres a certain height rides can be above sea level in different places..which is why at thorpe park they cant have rides tall as king da ka because its near heathrow airport and why most rides are dig in the ground at alton... i mean look at oblivion half the drop is underground XD

Felice Graziano Maverick? Voyage? (Voyage is long and tall, but arguably the highlights of the ride come after the huge airtime hills, where everything from then on out is close to the ground), Lightning Run and Storm Chaser? Local height restriction? Please explain
@KN-ko8ez8 жыл бұрын
+Sammy_J_2001 :D I should have clarified - local building height restrictions. Alton Towers is located in an area of conservation, which basically puts a restriction on the height of any ride or development in the park. It has been agreed with the local municipal council that nothing shall built above the tree line and if so, the development should be disguised to "blend in" (Rita).
@SYRION_Music8 жыл бұрын
Do you know the Efteling, the Netherlands? That park has also a height restriction. Unfortunately they can't build higher than 30m :(
@ryanbeet92178 жыл бұрын

I recently went to Alton Towers with my class from school, and we were split into 2 groups. The first group was people who wanted to go on roller coasters, the other were for people who didn't. I had never been on roller coasters before, so I was afraid to go into that group, but the other group went into the really slow and relaxing rides. We were all 11 years old at the time. I wanted to give it a try, so I went with the roller coaster group. It was 7 boys, me and 2 other girls which were really good friends of mine. The adult we were with, said which we wanted to go on first, the boys all shouted nemesis. I told one of the boys what nemesis was, and he knew me and the other girls looked scared, so he said, 'Its just straight with some twists and turns. Its not scary'. So we got there and went on the ride. Me and 3 other boys sat in the front seats. When the carriage in front of us left, I saw how slow it went. I was happy. Then I saw how it dropped and went so fast. Then I saw when we left the room, there were loops on this ride. I kept saying 'GET ME OFF, WHAT AM I DOING. I'M GONNA DIE' and when we went, I didn't scream, faint or close my eyes. It was so fun! I wanted to go on that for the rest of the day!

People queue for the front seats which is fine but I recommend after being one of these people going on the back of the ride in the rain JESUS CHRIST it is freaking awesome and the best seat in the house same as on the smiler sitting on the far left much better ride experience but that is just my opinion

What happened to the water not being red anymore? Was confused when I went again and it had changed.
@dep722910 жыл бұрын
Apparently some environmental agency banned Alton Towers from using the red powder in the water! They do put it in during Scarefest
@JammyBandStudios9 жыл бұрын
Chris Morris I just reckon that they don't wish to pay the money for the red dye powder. Over the winter when they do maintenance I would have thought that they drain the valleys to inspect the track and additionally the colour naturally runs out of the water, so they probably don't want to have to constantly re-colour it all the time.

the first time i went on this i was turning 12 in two days. my dad suggested alton towers for a birthday gift; and i had just been to lightwater valley as a leavers trip at school. so after i'd been on my first coaster; the ultimate, i was hyped for alton towers. my dad had always wanted to go too. basically, we'd ridden most of the rides. i refused to go on the smiler. we got to nemesis and i wanted to cry in the queue line when i saw the loop. but i shut myself up, sat in that seat, and enjoyed the entire thing. i'm now turning 13 in 1 month and we're going again for scarefest to ride the wickerman and thirteen in the dark!

Theming and the fact it's in a hole is the best thing about it. It's so short and is really poor compared to say Montu at Busch Gardens, Florida.
@AXAVCH8 жыл бұрын
+Ben Myers Nemesis may not have the duration or the much inversions, these rides has the intensity and the theming as Montu at Bush gardens and trust me I ridden both the coasters
@MyersMusicUK8 жыл бұрын
EXPLODING DIPERZ so have I. Nemesis has the sentimental edge I suppose, with me living in the UK and it being one of the first coasters I went on.
@AXAVCH8 жыл бұрын
As for many other coasters in the USA they sacrifice theming for the intensity or they do the opposite. However few ride have good theming and Intensity working side-by-side and that's what Nemesis does
@MyersMusicUK8 жыл бұрын
EXPLODING DIPERZ I wouldn't say this was that intense, Montu pulls more G's, well it felt that way to me, plus it still has the older style wheels on, so it still has its roar, where as nemesis as had its original sound suppressed somewhat over the years.
@anch0vy9617 жыл бұрын
Ben Myers whenever I get off Nemesis I always have a headache. I went on Nemesis when I was 10 and Montu when I was about 13/14. Even though Montu is great, Nemesis has to pull more G'a

totallyunfocused So? If they had working brains they would have known to expect noise.
@extrude225 жыл бұрын
Because Alton Towers is located in the middle of the countryside and anything higher than tree level would spoil the view in the surrounding area.
@extrude225 жыл бұрын
@totallyunfocused Although some people live nearby, It's not in a residential area, it is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. The actual reason is just because roller coasters would spoil the look of the area.

I can't speak for the others, but I'm pretty sure Nemesis looks rusted on purpose to add to the theming.
@witchychlo6 жыл бұрын
SqueakyYT a lot of it is theming. This ride is meant to look rusty, because of the monster etc. Same with Rita, it’s been overtook by Dark Forest for 8 years now, so of course they painted it all rusty
@Airtrooper7196 жыл бұрын
Went on Rita when it opened in 2005 and it was beautiful shiny red all over. Went on it yesterday and it was starting to look more rusty and grey in some parts. It's called ageing due to the weather :D
@insertnamehere56606 жыл бұрын
The point is they do get painted, the rustiness of Nemesis is part of the ride and also Rita got themed for the start of a season so it looks old

air does go upside down: the twisting on to the back and twisting into the flying position is considered as one inversion while the 360 degree twist is also an inversion.
