This was amazing on the live stream ,this is one very special band and a superb video .There performance of this at there first one man show with fans there was epic Mayu fully cracked crying through most of it and could not get the words out at the end.

The emotion from this video is nothing compare to their live performance in their first concert in front of audience. In that concert, this song, Life, was their last song or closing song. Before they started the performance of this last song, they were having a group hug as a routine gesture. And during that group hug, Mayu [the vocalist] said something like 'Thank you for being in the band' [in case you don't know, Mayu was the one who started this band in the first place]. That 'thank you' expression from Mayu to the rest of the band members caused all of them especially Haraguchi-san [bassist] cried like waterfall. Even can hear Mayu sing this song and at the same time crying. During the post-concert interview [available somewhere in KZbin with English subtitles], Mayu revealed what she said during the group hug just before they sing Life. And you can see how Haraguchi-san broke crying like waterfall again. The thing about this band is, they know they are talented but they really struggle during the early days. Covid pandemic that caused their live performances to cancel in 2020; uncertainty of Tamu [the drummer] of coming back after the maternity leave, etc., all boiled up until the time of their first concert in front of audience. Why they cried in the concert and in this Life video? It is more about their appreciation and feeling grateful of being together in the band after rock bottom experience in their careers [especially Mayu and Haraguchi-san]. That makes this NEMOPHILA band lovable in my opinion.

this song was written by vocalist mayu in response to drummer tamu's second child begin born that's why mayu tarns her back and sings to tamu😂

Not only did they dedicated this performance to Tamu, but they kept the lyrics a secret from her until this point. Beforehand, she only got the instrumental or required information, so she could contribute and learn her drum part. That she was a bit overwhelmed by the whole thing in the end, you can see here, and still she didn't miss a single beat. ❤‍🔥🤘🏻 I found and understood the lyrics to this song only later, but already at the first hearing, I was in tears. The instrumental, especially this solo section, and Mayu's vocals alone are enough to get the mood across. And that is something that I think far too few bands really manage. That's why these ladies here belong to the very best in the field for me. Their latest video, which they uploaded today/yesterday, 'Now I here' could be seen as part 2 to this song, but this time it hits someone else. 💮🔥 _____________________ 「 _'Our rock never dies ever. The lyrics behind this song is about failure faced by mayu but she refused to back down and vowed to fight her way in and eventually she proved that with proper motivation, we all can get what we are aiming for. It is such an emotional and encouragement that mayu wanted others to connect to and the message is don't give up because with all the support for those around you, you could get by just fine.

I'm sure other people here already said it, but they dedicated this song to Tamu the drummer after she had a baby I'm pretty sure. That's why they all face her and everyone is all tear jerked. But it's also a self thank you to the band for doing so much work to get to where they are so even more tears come out lol

They officially formed as Nemophila back in September of 2019. They first gathered to do a one off as the “Mayu session band” a couple months earlier. They liked what they had so much so that it spurred them on to make themselves a full band. Mayu first thought of naming the band Sorai but they decided not to due to the challenges with translating it. They chose a flower instead and here we are.

You should check out their song Adabana which is the Japanese term for a flower that doesn't bear fruit. The meaning behind it being not to let people or society tell you what you're value is, just because you're different and not like everyone else. She goes on to talk about being bullied because of it and then screams,"We're Here!!!" Meaning they get, they understand and are there with you and for you! Awe man it's like a guy shot, it's gets me misty everytime.
