Welcome back to another part of "Attention to Detail" in Modern Warfare, I have to say, I think this is easily the most detailed Call of Duty game we've gotten ever. I know many people say "Battlefield has had these details for YEARS" but hey, for COD, the details I've covered in these last 4 parts are pretty impressive.

Here's another impressive attention to detail, the Uzi correctly fires from an open bolt, and actually has a slight delay between the time the trigger is pulled, and when the first shot is fired. For those who aren't gun nerds, allow me to explain, an open bolt system means that when the gun is ready to fire, the bolt, which can be seen through the ejection port, is locked to the rear, and after firing it returns to the rearward position. When the gun is either not cocked, or you're out of ammunition, the bolt stays closed. Think of it like an inverted handgun slide, instead of the slide flinging backwards when you pull the trigger and closing after the shot, and then staying locked open after you're out of ammo? Basically reverse that process, to where everything is backwards. There's actually a gun that works just like that called the PM-63 "Rak", developed by the Polish in the late 1950s, some of you might remember it from Black Ops. Anyways, this system relies on using momentum of the bolt going forward to slam the firing pin into the primer of the cartridge and detonate it, and the firing pin is always fixed forward. A closed bolt requires another source of this momentum to hit the firing pin with enough force to make the gun go off, which is typically a hammer or striker. The firing pin on closed bolts are more like a switchblade, they pop out and detonate the cartridge when the hammer or striker provides the momentum. Despite the ejection port and bolt being left open for dirt and garbage to get inside and jam the gun up, open bolt guns do have a few advantages. They're stupid simple in operation and manufacture (the MAC-10 and MAC-11 only have like 52 parts, and maybe 15 of them are moving parts). Open bolts are often used on belt or drum fed machine guns because of their remarkable ability to disperse heat, leading to fewer overheatings and less barrel changes, but there's still considerable heat, especially on a weapon with a high rate of fire like an MG42. Many open bolt weapons also have a high rate of fire as a side effect, but this can be both a blessing and a curse. Problem is, compared to a closed bolt, junk can get inside the chamber, they're not as accurate, and because of that fixed firing pin, some open bolt guns are notorious for not being very drop safe (gun can go off when you drop it). Plus because it relies on that momentum, there is a bit of a delay before you get your first shot off, whereas with a hammer or striker? it's nearly instantaneous. But even in an era of high performance super-short assault rifles and PDWs like the MP7 and P90? Open bolt designs still have their uses. Some guns that use an open bolt for example, are the M249 SAW, MAC-10/MAC-11, TEC-9, AA-12 shotgun, German MP38/MP40, Soviet PPSh-41, Ultimax-100 machine guns, MG34/42 GPMGs, and yes of course, the Uzi.

Don’t forget that your character also does a “chamber check” on some guns like the Scar-H when they go dry, this is firearms training technique to make sure your gun is empty and has not malfunctioned.

@@Katsudon96 your a special case lol. But for everyone else, you want to be sleeping while it's dark and awake while it's light out. I don't remember all the details, but it has to do with your body natural patterns. Your body produces a chemical (I forgot the name) when it is evening/dark that encourages deeper sleep. And another one that encourages wakefulness in the morning (again I forgot the name). From my understanding it has to do with the kind of light that's around you, i.e. evening gold or morning blue. While you can train your body to sleep at certain times, it really doesn't like it.

Hey Nemsk, just discovered the channel, terrific content! A detail I'm not sure if you've noticed (or if it's been mentioned) is if you equip a dual purpose sight where the iron sight portion is canted, the operator visually tilts the gun to match what's done in first person. I noticed this with the thermal hybrid sight that has a canted iron sight for the M4, but presumably it works on all guns.
