Hey @Nemsk if you do get stuck with the drill charge with a riot shield, put the shield on your back and it'll launch away from you. And you can survive. Try it in episode 2 :)

For the shock stick killing you myth, it does actually work if you go into water while shocked or if it's on/in the water. Got killed like this once And for the riot shield drill charge, the enemy was using EOD (bomb squad in this game) it usually works without it

Most people run EOD no matter what because of how many explosives people use, especially the drill charge

If it makes you feel better, the first guy you tried to save doesn't actually die, his armour takes the hits and after sitting down for a bit he'll get back up. On a similar note, if you look closely at the Harrier's crash animation, you can see that the pilot actually ejects. The canopy pops off and then there's a big poof of white smoke as the seat flies out (though the seat/pilot/parachute aren't actually modelled, likely being unneeded distractions). Super cool to see a proper AUG HBAR build (scope, bipod, 42-rounder) at the end of the video too. :)

That guy in the first mission doesn't die, the plate takes the hit, a surprisingly common excuse for people not dying in mw2

It’s a completely plausible excuse. Plate stopped bullets might still brake bones anc cause internal/external bleeding, but this isn’t something that disables you from action for more than a minute which this guy takes to rest and possibly inject adrenaline/morphine - which is another factor for the plausible neglect of those minor injuries

If it was a hard plate it probably did barely any damage, I’ve seen vids of ceramic plates stopping 50 cal

As a Gold Riot Shield User i can tell you it is more than 5% of the time that drill charge kills you. At this point i seen only few times it didn't kill me. It might be something to do with movement.
