I’m so sad I wasn’t quick enough to get the lover live from paris vinyls. They’re so expensive now 💔😭. For cleaning I find it easiest to put my vinyl on the turntable and turn it on so all you have to do is gently press the cleaning tool on top while the record spins for you ☺️

Something that I do also is when I put the record back into the outer sleeve, I turn the opening of the inner sleeve (where you pull the vinyl out) to the left or right and slide it back into the outer sleeve! That way the opening of the inner sleeve is covered and you don’t have to worry about dust touching the actual vinyl when it’s sitting on the shelf :)

I love this! I got folklore and 1989 tv for Christmas and recently bought a record player of my own. Though I’m no expert myself, my dad is a big vinyl guy (been collecting since the 70’s), so I’ve learnt quite a lot from him. Something I do know though, is I don’t recommend storing them in the outer sleeve. Instead, I would put them in the inner sleeves, with the cardboard pockets (with the protector over it). Keep it up Nena! 😊

I put my plastic sleeves inside the gatefolds as normal. Then when you slip the cover into the outer plastic sleeve, I just make sure the opening of the sleeve is the same as the cover, so you can just slip the vinyl out whenever you need. That way you don't make it thicker than it needs to be and you won't have to jam it all in. That's what I've done since the 80s!

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but you can spray your vinyl, put it back on the turntable and spin it as you wipe with the velvet brush thingy. Makes it a whole lot easier!

I love your collection, Nena, super impressive. Here are my tips (I'm not an expert, but I grew up playing records). Clean your record while it's spinning on the turntable, it will be a lot easier. Also, when you put the album cover into the plastic sleeve, have the opening of the plastic sleeve on the side where the records come out instead of the top. This way you can still slide the records into the cover and they will be protected and not as bulky with the records out of the cover.

When you have a record with multiple lps I usually put one in the back and one in the middle of the gatefold. 2 and 2 for a 4lp. It puts less pressure on them than having them all in the back.

quick tip: when your cleaning there should be an auto stop switch on the vinyl player you can throw the vinyl on the player turn the auto stop switch off and it’ll spin making it a lot easier to spray and clean it as a whole

For gatefold vinyls I use only gatefold outer sleeves...this way I can always open them and appreciate the image inside without damaging them...

Great thing you brought up the deal with bad record players. It’s really important to pay attention to it. Pretty not always means good 😅 It’s better to wait and save for a couple more months, than settle for a cheaper one and risk damaging your vinyl. And now a personal advice: beware where you store them… keep them awaaaaaay from your cats 😂 mine like to pull the covers off the shelf and chew the sides… R.I.P. Evermore 😂

I'm not sure but I think, when you have multiple vinyls then you should put one in the back and one in the middle (when it's a gatefold ). And with Red TV you put two in the middle and two in the back.

Just FYI they do make oversized outer sleeves for gatefolds! Definitely consider investing in them so your multi-LP sets aren't crammed into the smaller sleeves. I personally didn't have a good experience with Invest in Vinyl several years ago -- the sleeves weren't consistently sized and would split really easily. I love the Groove Vinyl Jimmy Hats but I think they've been discontinued. 😢

Hi! I appreciate you describing what they look like because I may have mentioned this to you before a while back, but I am a subscriber who is blind. As far as the self titled debut album, I’ve been with Taylor since 2006, and that album was re-issued in 2008. The 2006 version Has a different version of Teardrops On My Guitar and a different mix of Our Song. I think the only one to make the vinyl is the 2008 version of the album though. I have CDs but this video was very interesting. I have been collecting music since I was 10 and I’m in my 30s so I have a lot of CDs and I don’t think I would have room for the records that I would accumulate! Lol. I know that they did release a pink, limited edition of the self titled debut album. I saw on Amazon that they have a Teardrops On My Guitar vinyl, but it was wicked expensive. It came up when I was looking at CDs. It’s probably really hard to find but if you can get your hands on the original 2006 version of the self titled album you should. It only has 11 tracks.

Unfortunately, they have really bad needles, they break easily if you’re using too much and damage the vinyl and it could warp it too. I would save up a cheaper non-suitcase player, Audio-Technica really is the best, but you could find cheaper too.👍 in the meantime i wouldn’t use the suitcase player too much.
