NeNe Leakes Gives Her Son Bryson Tough Love | RHOA | "You're Too Strict"

NeNe and Gregg Leakes give their son Bryson a pep talk because of his troubling and destructive behaviour; coming home late from the club every night, making the house messy, lack of finances, and lack of job aspirations. NeNe eventually reaches her breaking point with Bryson after he keeps breaking his promises to better himself.

This boy was grown and wasn’t doing nothing. I understand what it’s like raising children and having adult children that does nothing. No matter how many conversations you have with that child you’re waiting for the light bulb to go off and you hope it does soon. It becomes overwhelming dealing with that while trying to navigate your own life and live with your own aspirations. It sets you back to have adult children that do nothing and seem to want nothing. I’m sure they did everything they could for him. Sometimes disconnecting is the best advice. Bought learning is the best learning.

Also I’m fed up of black parents/families especially ones where the parents are WEALTHY (Like Nene) throwing their kids to the wolves and having them struggle and “make it out the mud” themselves. I do realize some non-black families can be like this but for the most part, you see these other non-black families helping each other, putting each other on, building each other up. Look at the Italians for example. But black families have this obsession with “tough love” and “struggle”. Once you make it then they wanna act like they were always supporting you and never made you struggle! Keep approaching family dynamics like this and black families will never have generational wealth!

Bryson got treated much harshly than Brentt. More proof of the older sibling having it harder than the younger one. Bryson had a harder start - he didn’t know his father, lacked a father figure/structure while Brentt had a father in the home, and got to grow up as Nene was getting wealthier, and was definitely coddled more. Nene also probably treated him better because she stayed with/was married with Brentt’s father. Not excusing his actions but Bryson needed more guidance, therapy and people to hear him out

Maybe but she treated him well too, just wanted him to be responsible. How did her son with Greg turn out?

One of the scariest/most painful things is when a parent or child and parent want the best for the child but dont know what that is/how to achieve it?

These are the kind of rules and tough LOVE that young males need to help them avoid being lazy and expecting things to just fall into their laps. Great work NeNe

It gets confusing what certain parents want…don’t want you in the streets…but kick them out..20 is very young a child may be legally an adult but mentally not a time to kick them out…the streets is not a place. But Ik that she truly cares I wish and hope they can find a better way..I pray for them all even today him as an adult saw her interview that he’s recently allegedly addicted to drugs. 🌹🙏🏾

Here y’all go bringing up money. He could have been depressed , maybe he wasn’t. But please stop saying he’s lucky because his mom has money as if that’s all you need to raise a HAPPY , ambitious, mentally well child. Anyways what’s the update on him? I wonder. Update: omgggg yall. He done got arrested in 2023 for drugs he lied about having when he really did have it. It was fentanyl and something else. Then when he got out of jail. He violated his probation by not going and disappearing. They said he couldn’t be found. I think that’s sorted out now. But in an interview it said nene said “he has an addiction , there’s nothing I can do” which I agree and disagree with that comment. There’s nothing you can yes, but there’s things you can try to do but that’s not always effective so I understand. Keep in mind this was after Gregg passed away. I think he may have definitely been struggling with depression in this clip and it has obviously gotten worse and nene has given up. She’s probably tired too from Greg’s passing. Also the baby mom of Bryson (he gotta a kid) and NeNe are beefing BAD. & in 2022 she exposed NeNe on the internet. But it was really low read , distasteful as well. So it was sad to read. She said “your husband is gone, and your son is a junkie; it’s karma for being horrible etc” it may or not be the case but it was sad to read chile. It’s really sad. I will pray for both of them. ❤

I hate that nene thinks she had to retract this conversation. This is good parenting to me. Like he 100% needed to get a trade or union internship or something because thats it period. And its a good thing to show on tv. Sure him being a bit embarrassed shoukd ideally kick him into gear. NOW THE WAY HE LIED TO DWIGHT was a huge sign like clearly hes embarrassed. So idj what else could have help to him together but i love this scene and clip because it was real reality tv

Yall talking about you think he was depressed. No he wasn’t, she just listed all the ways she spoiled him and didn’t teach him responsibility or accountability. Now as a 20 year old man he’s learning things he was supposed to have been taught. She doing it now because she sees the damage of it not being done
