This song instantly brings me back to summer 1989, early teens, hanging out at the lake trying to meet guys. We'd wear spandex shorts and cutoff tank tops, Ellise shoes, big clunky earrings and red lipstick. That was one of the best times of my life, and now in this shit year of 2021, I find comfort in my memory and the music that became the soundtrack of my life. I wish I could run and hide in my memory forever, back in the good old days before adulthood and responsibility... The song I wish that more people heard was her response to "This is a Mans World" on her album Man. She would take inspiration and have a purpose for it rather than just "sounds neat". I love that she was touring with Lenny Kravitz and then performing Buddy X which is like "you think im going to stay quiet with your cheating?"

Thats a simple but sweet guitar synth. Though you have funk genre era of the 70s to thank, late 80s and early 90s pop used the guitar synth religiously and took it to a level we still haven't surpassed even with the technology we have now. You got Milli vanilli, Fine young canibals etc. Some producers of the late 90's early 2000 such as Pretty Tony were some of the last acts.
