Been playing this game for damn near 30yrs , and i still can't beat it. I still enjoy it though. However, back in the 90s, I finished the Super Nintendo version. This game is exceedingly difficult... For me, anyway.

Game Designer Tokurou Fujiwara mentioned a more ambitious design for the game in a 1991 interview: "Also, we originally had a far grander design in mind for Daimakaimura. After the second stage, each stage would have branching A and B routes, and you’d get to choose your path after every stage. Then on the second loop you’d be forced to play the stages you didn’t choose the first time around. Unfortunately, we ran out of memory and time so those extra stages had to be cut. However, even though we shelved those stages, the alternate stage 2 (the water stage) was secretly resurrected and used in the Super Famicom Choumakaimura as the second half of stage 2."

I don't think there is any game where dagger has high value like this game..haha It was hard to kill a zombie with a combat Knife in ‘Resident Evil 1’.

It was very good for such an early port (1989) and small cart (5 meg). Sega trully delivered "Arcade at home" experiences with the Mega Drive. See also Golden Axe, Strider, Super Hang-On, Mercs and many others! :D
@Bloodreign14 жыл бұрын
An 8 meg cart could've gotten us more detailed backgrounds like the arcade. For Strider the backgrounds were nice for the smaller cart, but this game just begged for a bigger one. IMO Strider was far closer to arcade perfect than this game is.
@ryzmaker114 жыл бұрын
@@Bloodreign1 you need to know that strider was released 1 year after ghouls 'n ghosts so no wonder the bigger cart (8 meg vs 5) and, therefore, the more detailed graphics furthermore, sega was facing memory shortage during the mega drive early days (this has been documented) and they were also on a budget many people don't realize that sega was still quite a young company at the time and the fact that they outdid NEC + hudson combined (i.e. the pc engine and related hardwares, with NEC being a way older and bigger company than sega) and that they were the first to overcome nintendo domination (and their questionable practices towards third party developers) is an amazing achievement, especially since sega weren't only covering home consumer market but also arcade market sega has always been the company with the biggest potential but they screwed themselves up so many times due to stupid management decisions and internal disputes... but they're still doing rather well (and better than ever in the last 10 years) so let's see about the future
@ryzmaker114 жыл бұрын
@@Bloodreign1 now if you want to complain about a port that needed a bigger cart, look no further than forgotten worlds. 4 meg was sad. sega should have waited a bit in order to insufflate 8 meg into this one as well. but maybe they thought that it wasn't a popular enough game to justify doing so and even if it lacks some stuff, it's still a pretty good port, with about as many pros/cons over the way later released pc engine port that relied on super CD-rom² and needed a dedicated pad

There is a remake of a Mega Drive Ghouls n Ghosts game currently being made. The 1st level is complete, check it out. It's just like the arcade.

The boat stage 2 in Super Ghouls and Ghosts was going to be a stage in Ghouls and Ghosts as they were going to be more stages so the player didn't have to play the same level again on the second run. Look it up on Google to find out more about it.

Yes as soon as you hear it you know what it is. The sounds on so many incredible megadrive games add to the enjoyment of the game play. The 16 bit graphs and colour palete are superb in this game too.
