I did a heavy mistake of operating this module on 5v, after that it became extremely hot, and I might have burnt or short circuit the chip , so if anyone is reading DO NOT connect iti with 5v, it's operating voltages are 3.3v

There are various types of 6M GPS modules. This particular module comes with a regulator, so you can safely provide 5V to it.

hi, why you connect the rx and tx with 3 and 4, and not with the rx and tx pins of the arduino?

Hi dear @daroboro , he did that because in codes he used software serial libary which provide alternative way of connecting UART devices on other digital pins that UART pins

This is a GPS module. Its s receiver. Transmitter is the satellite.
