Strict Calvinist teaching or even aspects of it, is directly responsible for people leaving the faith. No question about it. Calvinism makes salvation so much more difficult and confusing than it really is.

A very timely study with the recent acknowledgment of Steve Lawson a pastor teacher, who I believe is a Calvinist has admitted to an inappropriate relationship with another woman other than his wife and has been stood down. Does he think and the Calvanists think that God decreed this sin? Do they now think because he didn’t persevere in the faith & fell into sin that he’s now unsaved and not really a Christian? It’s so sad that the theological views of Calvinism are confusing, convoluted and in my view evil. Praying God causes Steve Lawson to review his Calvinistic theological interpretation of the Bible through these events in his life.

The works insinuation built into Calvinism, I believe came out of their original ties with Catholicism. In other words, even though they created the Reformation, I believe they were still tainted with some core doctrines they said they were distancing from, yet they never fully did. Maybe not consciously, but they repackaged their long held ways into different words.

This guy doesn't knows what is neo calvinism, pure mistake! Neo calvinism is the calvinism of Abraham Kuyper, Doowyeveerd, Bavinck, etc. He wants to talk about new calvinism, and not neo calvinism. If he does not know extactly about what he wants to say, he should seek for information first. But, he also does not know what is calvinism, he misrepresents it, pure mistaken information in this video!

Maybe he didn't realize that someone a hundred years ago had already coined the phrase. He did say, "...what I like to call Neo-Calvinism." He probably hadn't heard of New Calvinism. Though his terminology may not be as accurate as you like, I have seen and experienced through the years that Calvinism is as he has described.
