Here's a topic that doesn't get discussed enough, Mister Ted. Composing on the bass. Because we all accept that even virtusoso bass players probably compose on keyboards or guitar. Personally, I'm tired of conventional wisdom. It's what's got us to this impasse where there's hardly any new music and what we have mostly sounds the same. So, if composing on the bass has the potential to lead to a different kind of music then I say F* conventional wisdom. So, let's start with: do we know anyone who composes on the bass? And how do they go about doing it? Is it any different from composing on traditional instruments? And do they get different results?
