@@Pickupjazz Come to think of it, maybe Bmin. pentatonic? Or is it just B pentatonic? I'm guessing that is somehow related to D Maj.? I'm completely self-taught and can't read music. Just know the names of some chords and scales.

Bmin pentatonic is the same as Dmaj pentatonic. It is pretty similar to Emin so it could work. He's talkin bout that C# as if you meant the D natural major scale I think, it's not in D major pentatonic. In fact all those notes might fit in this key, but it's missing a few that could be interesting!
