Yep. I voted for 2016-2020 but feel like we are getting 2004 bush. People like Vivek and Elon talking about gutting social security and going back 250 yrs just sounds batshit to me. The U.S. is still a relatively libertarian outlier in the world. Yes all these other positiosn are bullshit positions. Sec of State is probably the most important and most impactful position that heads and reflects foreign policy. Trump will be the same Trump from 2016: Warhawk that protects Israel. It won't be as bad as Biden/dems who are hellbent on having wars in Europe though. Tulsi is just a mere directory, not a secretary. The current DNI is "Avril Haines" and nobody has ever ****ing heard of who that is. Sec of State is basically the like... so if the president is the CEO, Sec of state is basically the CTO so almost second in command where it matters. I'd say it's more important than vice president.

Rubio has proven surprisingly flexible in regards to adjusting his views and approach on things. Maybe some conversations have happened with Rubio that made Trump's team think he's going to be a good choice this time around.

They literally said it hasn't been confirmed by Trump, and they also speculated that Trump is using these leaks as a way to gauge enthusiasm for specific individuals. Journalists talking about hypothetical appointees is a very healthy thing to do. Having these discussions can influence the decision, or better inform Trump and his aides. This is one of the key aspects of the media, so it's strange to see someone advocating against it.

The last few republicans haven't been anti-war or less government agencies. The Bush family certainly loved wars. Trump certainly didn't end any government agencies, didn't reduce spending. I agree, Trump is more libertarian but their are many areas he certainly is not.
