Great video thanks Alan. I just downloaded this yesterday and many aspects I was trying to figure out myself, but your helpful vid has cleared up quite a lot of the mystery around settings payloads and transferring pilot/aircraft, as well as the initial hire of the Cessna 172 G1000 (what a great idea!?). I spent 4 hours in the 152 doing bush missions around remote airports on the coast of Sth East Queensland, and it was already getting a bit long in the tooth.....the G1000 will make it so much more of an involved experience. There's only so many controls you can fiddle with midflight on the base 152....

I've noticed NeoFly 4 is MUCH harder to make money at, then 3.0 was! It's crazy, I'll never get out of the C152! Hired a pilot to fly some local trade routes, wasn't thinking and bought all the cell phones (5?) I could afford and he ended up doing a hard landing and breaking 3 of the 5 so basically set back to scratch. Now I'm flying less delicate cargo and making like $1200 a run, but with the wear and tear on the aircraft hull (C152 btw) and fuel, I cannot make a dime! The ability to get loans is harder than in 3.0 as well. I'm sure if it's possible to get the few million for a Caravan, you'd be doing okay money-wise... but I just don't see getting to that point in my lifetime. Love your videos and insight!

I thought the same thing, I do miss rushing my qualifications and taking out a 100 million dollar loan, but I'm getting there. You can take your 50k loan and with your money rent something bigger and haul cargo off the market for sometimes pretty big gains. Even sorry 20 minute flights can net you 10k+ profit. More as you get into planes that haul more. Also even though it is considered free flight you do still get exp for those flights. Just make sure you backup before every flight. I lost a 200k deposit and my cargo on a DA62 because msfs decided I had crashed after landing successfully. But I'm recovering and might be able to rent my first turbo prop this evening. I never touched the market on 3.0 but with the raised difficulty for 4.0 It is very helpful.

@@stenkamx5406 Yeah, I just sold the 152 and grabbed the $50K loan to RENT a C172 to help make money. I’m doing all the flying atm as it seems like less wear and tear (and more consistent landings) than when I hired a pilot. Also by doing it this way it’ll help increase my rank to be able to get better loans!

@Skyrat12 I haven't noticed any too bad wear and tear from the AI pilots. I'm running a B36 at the moment. Just faster speed and better cargo. Hoping the AI didn't crash it while I'm here at work. The real question im wondering is if I will be able to one day afford the AN-225 on neofly. I got it on sale and could hardly pass.

I STRONGLY recommend taking the A class certification again until you get 3 stars. This has major experience and financial advantages.

How did you get the weight balance to show in game? I can only see that part of the screen before I’m flying (in main menu) Also really nice trick at adding custom way point in front of the landing runway to aid you lining up. G1000 is pretty much too my go to starter plane. I did notice another fairly decent one. Can’t remember the name beaver something - it had like over 1000 lbs payload and for autopilot, i think only the heading and altitude hold works. No gps. But still very usable and allows for some big loads. Also fly’s quite nicely - stable and fast “ish”.

I just want to say part 2 is in progress. I'm hoping to have it done before my summer hols Tuesday next week (18 July) but can't promise that. Since this video was created, NeoFly 4 has come out of beta and is now public (neoFly4.net) . I wont start again however as it was only shortly after this beta version and nothing major of what I covered has changed. I'll go over any differences in part 2. Various versions are available on the website. But do yourself a favour... this addon has given me well over a hundred hours of enjoyment and provided meaningful flying goals since it was in Beta many months ago. For 20 bucks you get all the important addons... I've bought planes for double that and havent flown them again after a week. Please purchase the bundle option and support this guy (It's pretty much just one extremely talented programmer). If things are tight I recommend you get at least the 'pilots' option ($10).

I’m late to the party- I started neofly last week and I’ve grown addicted to it. Last night I had a long flight in my 152- which I have grown fond of. And I thought to myself - I should really stop for fuel on the way. Decided I would be ok and I lost my engine a few miles from my destination - in the dark at night. Needless to say I crashed and lost my plane 🤪. Soooo watch your fuel 😉

I used to enjoy the old NeoFly, but I hated this version and deleted it. I never could get the tutorial screen to go away even though I checked the box that said don't show this again.

That's odd. There's just a simple checkbox to click to stop it coming again. that's something weird going on with your windows not NeoFly's fault. I've reinstalled neofly numerous times and never had that issue 😕

frustratiing it wont match plane , and i am doing it correct . i.e cessna 172 , stays red its at correct location ,, tells me i need assobo i thought msfs was asobo . i go through every plane in the livery then go back to neofly , makes no odds ?? any ideas please

Hi follow up to my comment , it did go green but not till i started plane . Which is a bit of pain because if i do have wrong livery id have to stop and restart flight ,, no worrirs though

This looked great. I downloaded and installed it immediately :) But it won't start for me. I double click the icon and nothing happens. If I look in the task manager it shows it is running, but there is nothing showing at all. I reinstalled it and it is the same, nothing happens at all.

bit late to the party just downloaded it sold my aircraft went to the fiance option but unable to get a loan since the box is cut in half and have no click spot to click on, tried to min the screen no luck, same with trying to rent the option is on the far right which iam unable to see or get to

I don’t know if you figured out the fix yet but I had the same problem. There is a section in the Neofly FAQ that walks through how to fix it. Usually has to do with your screen resolution.

@@andrewschuler8733 thx for that i tried that the buy or rent option came into view but the boxes for the fiances think there are 8 there were still only 1/4 of the sizes they were suppose to be unable to click the option at all. thx for your reply

Why do none of the starter planes have the liveries actually present in the game? For instance the cessna have a livery called Asobo but in the game only the Neofly livery is present? Had to change livery of my plane in the app to the neofly one but that costs all starter money… seems weird.

Yeah the livery scheming can be confusing. If you see 'Asobo ' it basically means the default livery. You dont have to change it from default. @@simonhagfalk

Probably x2. The simrate penalty only came in force when NF4 wentpublic. The version Im using here was the last beta version where it wasnt yet implemented.

@@wilddoktor It may well have been 1/2 speed then. Can't remember to be honest. When landing with sensitive goods you need a VS of under 200 FPM: Trying that on a high simrate risks your phones getting smashed and you losing a ton of money.

The app is too complicated and does not work. Bing is closing down and not allowing new signers. Liveries in neofly: There is no point to do that as it does not load in MFS. In fact if u repaint your plane in neofly you cannot use it to complete missions as the planner says its not selected in mfs. of course its not selected mfs as the livery does not exist except for picture in neofly. Neofly does not even have the livery so it makes the whole thing pointless. Also in this version if you damage your plane its the end of the road as you have no money money or not enough of it.
