Yes there are still hidden audiofiles within the game.

Yes! Based on recorded dialogue within the game it was originally planned that you could save both. Why that was cut I'm not sure, but my guess was probably to make that choice feel more important and so the player is humbled a bit as they cannot save everyone. Don't forget you just saved Wrex by having a full Charm/Intimidate stat or by helping him in a sidequest (proto-loyalty mission).

@@Wexter0083 I just got my hands on the Legendary Edition and noticed that they changed the wrex choice thing. You definitely had to have enough paragon/renegade leveled in the skill tree to convince him. In the LE this is not a paragon or renegade choice anymore. It is neither blue nor read, so I guess you can save him even without skilling those perks.
