The metal slug slowdown is present to be true to the original versions. Direct console ports like the playstation versions of metal slug 1 and metal slug x have slowdown removed, but the original MVS and AES versions have tons of slowdown particularly on metal slug 2

@@crescentsunx I prefer playing them with 0 slowdown but emulation is a lot more fussy and annoying than using wii virtual console or a neo geo so it's either way for me. Only really bugs me in 1 and 2

Nice little machine. I had a NEO GEO X. It was a pretty cool handheld/home console, but it never really took off. It’s nice to see SNK jam all those classics in one game, but it would have been nice to see it take batteries or have a rechargeable li-ion.

I loved my NeoGeo X Gold. If you get the Mega Pack Vol 1 and update the system it's absolutely fantastic.

I'm not a huge Neo Geo fan or anything but I'm thinking about getting one of these RN because the price just dropped below $50 on amazon. I guess, people are a lot more happy with the "pro" controller they put out more recently, and maybe they're trying to liquidate stock of these. I dunno if I would have gone for it at the original price but, yeah, check it out.....

There’s also at least 5 different versions of the NEOGEO Mini, the Japanese, International,Christmas, Samurai Shodown, and the Samurai Spirits versions.

Clearance Collector that’s exactly what I did, I hooked a 3 inch usb c cable to a monster brand external thin charger that I have velcro’d to the back of the unit.

@@lawinner831 It's for nostalgia only. They have separate controllers, white or black, you can buy for $25 each. You can also plug it into the TV to play, just like the NES and SNES classics. That'll probably how I play this most of the time. However, I bought it mainly because I never had a Neo Geo, too damn expensive, so this will be my Neo Geo. Plus it looks cool as it's a miniature arcade cabinet.

Sucks for both versions are AES console versions with limited continues instead of the MVS arcade versions just like SNK did on Arcade Archives for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch

Excuse me. About my Neogeo mini, I found that, the default joystick is hard to use, especially I want to play →↓→( Shoryuken type command). Did it also happen in your Neogeo mini? Is this drawback normal in this Joystick? Do you have any suggestions to improve this? Although it’s ok for action games, it really confuses me in fighting games like KOF.

Only complaints..they didnt add double dragon to it and it only gives you 4 credits per game other than that it kicks ass its fully playable responsive and the sound is impressive

Neo Geo Mini for ever. I don't care about battery, I don't play outside, I only play indoor at home or at my friends home where we always connect our consoles. Playing on the go in portable mode is just stupid, you never play in a comfortable way, plus it only take a criminal to hit your head and knock you down to take your staff away.

it's cool to see how many games they jammed into this thing. i wish the nes/snes/ps1 classic had more games included. 40 is a great number, but i feel the entire library should be included. but what i hate about the neo geo stuff is that they always make stuff so cheap. this arcade thing sucks, and so does the neo geo x. why can't they make a proper mini? made with care and quality. the die hard fans will buy it, and even the not so big fan (like me) would be interested in buying it. until then, i rather just get the compilations of games they have made instead for other systems.

That's the thing, this mini consoles are not aimed at diehard fans. They are aimed at the masses. People who may not game in these years but remember seeing this things in the 80's and guess what "John birthday is sunday" he plays videogames he might like one of these... That's went these mini consoles are cheap AF, most diehard fans will buy them themselves while the cheap price will target the masses. It's a win-win situation.

@@shakemiz when i was talking about cheap, i was talking about cheap quality. like it's gonna break easily, and it's gonna have to be replaced soon. not cheap as in good price. back in the day, they made everything top notch, but now, it seems like they go the cheap route, with breakable parts, and crappy controllers. many people that rate/review these things tend to complain about that, or the bad emulation.

Honestly, I feel you are wrong. This thing is amazing in every regard. I collect ALL mini arcades and I can tell you there is a massive difference in quality when it comes to the Neo Geo mini vs a $50 pacman mini arcade or Bad Dudes. The other ones are good but this thing is levels beyond those. These controllers feel sturdier and more reliable. I always felt those clicky joysticks of the original hardware would break easy. The super solid and smooth joystick on the unit and on the mini's gamepads is unreal. This thing is miles ahead of the Neo Geo X. That thing sucked. Massive screen tearing, shit video quality, and poor emulation. Surprised they managed to get the joystick almost 100% right. That's impressive. But the console was shit. Hooked up to a TV, gamepad in hand..... this is a very very very good way to play Neo Geo without needing a $500 console with games ranging from $20-$80 for early ok games vs games ranging from $200-$2000 for the good ones. Im with you on one thing. I really want an AES Classic. Something thats the same size as a Neo Geo X has the massive joysticks and can accept mini pads. It should be $299 and have 100-130 games on it. Premium price for what would ultimately be a premium package. Everyone would lose their shit.
