COTW is by far my favorite art direction in any fighter out right now I am beyond ready for this release.

It looks great. Finally SNK understood what they must do in terms of art direction, and sadly it's been too late (but better than never, i guess). If SNK had the right vision about art direction in the making of KOF 14, they could have prevented the massive embarassment that actually ruined their reputation of artistically dedicated company, that they always had and was very highlighted thanks to KOF 13. That reputation is still cracked, in KOF. We have to hope that SNK will come up with stylish visuals for the next KOF (not exactly like FF COTW but in the same spirit) and finally recover their reputation. SNK can't compete with SF, TK, MK and other bigger games in that art style of high detail, that not only is plain but it's expensive... SNK must apply a kind of stylish effect to make their games stand out precisely for looking different than the others.

At the very least a detailed narrative in manga form, to begin. That actually is important to help newcomers, so it would have a totally practical effect for the future of the game. There must be a large population of players who didn't follow KOF since the earliest games, and started with KOF 02 or later games. So they are not truly attached to the lore and older arcs even if they look it up online if they want. In that case a detailed narrative would work wonders to create real engagement.

The only problem is that a lot of people in North America and Europe don't have the same opinion, because SNK don't have solid roots in the old school arcade history of these regions. I wish SNK was able to change that reality and make those players more excited about the company. Let's see if it can finally happen now, that the company finally has the power of Terry as a protagonist once again.

Picked up some more obscure SNK titles in some recent sales and I've been playing a bit of Kizuna Encounter. Does have some interesting gameplay with the tag team system and it would be interesting to see this revisited. The Tag in/out system really changed up strategies as you could essentially tag out to avoid and get closer to your opponent in certain circumstances, or even get behind them if you are in the tag field so plenty of tactical options.

Kizuna is one of the first tag team games in the genre, it was released actually in the same month of XvSF but a bit later. So Capcom has the merit of making a tag team game before SNK.

Sadly Kizuna is too obscure right now to be a game worth for the current age, when the game making conditions are very different, the market is very different, and even KOF struggles to get attention from the big public of fg fans. Only the very hardcore and older SNK fans are well aware of these games. And the modern SNK has so little regard for it that the characters never appeared again in KOF. Hayate and Gyazu were in KOF 11 (2005). Now what i personally wanted is that SNK was open to try that tag system of Kizuna in KOF. That would be 2 in 1: bring back the teammates at the background, the famous feature that was abandoned after KOF 98... and finally try a brand new gameplay idea, that i find necessary right now. KOF never tried anything new since tag in 03 and 11.

SNK's early promotional artworks for FF COTW show Andy and Joe, and at least i think they are hinted to be playable in the game. Not exactly in the base roster, they could be dlc. About Ryu, i actually don't like the idea, sorry to say. He is too boring and his moveset too basic for a SNK system. His staple shoto playstyle doesn't fit well with JD and air JD, ground roll, feints, etc. Ken works better because his own shoto form is flashy and combo-based, and Chun Li also has a lot of combos.

A remake of Voltage Fighters Gowcaizer would be a dream the game never hidden the fact that they were a fanservice fighting game with very attractive characters, if SNK can give them a really good gameplay plus the attractive characters it could be a really great game. But Waku Waku 7 is a remake I want to see too.

Now i find CvS3 a matter of time. And i'm not even an optimistic person, i have to say. But we've seen a change in Capcom and SNK's relations in the last years (coincidence or not, shortly after Ono left Capcom), and that actually convinced me that the game has very solid chances of happening now. First the rerelease of the old crossovers, then the "CvS" artwork at Evo, then the SF6 guest characters. Also Nakayama is a big Fatal Fury fan. The point is that SF6 is doing too well right now, so there's no right situation for starting anything. I believe something will start near SF6's end. We have to remember that CvS1-2 (2000-2001) were made in a time Capcom had given up SF, so it's like basically the fg devs had their hands free.

The other option would be to turn CvS into a Marvel clone, which was what I was assuming they would do, up until Marvel proper was back on the table. Now I too think a new CvS will be done as SF6 wraps up, possibly while MvC4 is still going.

To me there's strong potential in a anime adaptation (but manga is also fine) of KOF, FF, SS, and some minor franchises like Last Blade and Psycho Soldiers. Speaking of PS, it's interesting when we realize that Naruto popularized "trio" dynamics in modern anime, but the older KOF devs reinvented Athena and Kensou for the game with such good inspiration, years before Naruto, that their group dynamics (including Chin, Bao and maybe Momoko) could be perfectly transported to an anime or manga as the center of the story.

That's true, i became convinced that CvS is actually more powerful than even SF. The community is more affectionate when talking about CvS compared to SF. And that's also why CvS, if it ever gets made, will only happen between SF releases so it doesn't steal SF players. Now when it's SF and MvC there's no risk of stealing each other's players because they are too different games... there are even SF players who totally dislike MvC. But the risk is very real for SF and CvS.

in China, City of the wolves on Steam went down from 430 Yuan to 268 Yuan. Pretty much from 60 dollars to 35 dollars. I bought it as soon as I heard about this news. Crazy that the game went down +40%. Is it the case in other markets?

I am fine with CVS3 as long we get an SNK vs Capcom 2 game. As someone who doesn't care much about modern AAA games or the popular mainstream AAA fighters. SNK not only speaks to me as a fan but, as a fighting game & retro fighting game player. SNK also has the artstyle, the excellent music composers, & the amazing game play that appeals to both fans new & old. SNK's approach is the best in my opinion & why I adore them.
