Even the nwc t5s are way stronger than people give them credit for. If you aren't doing crazy hard launches with stickies it shifting at 7000rpm they hold great power. In a drag car, you might get 200 passes, you might get 2 passes. In a street car it can last ages even at 600hp plus. I've got a friend down the road making way north of 600 on a stock t5 in his 1970 mustang for the last 15 years. He's chewed up a bunch of rear ends but his transmission remains. He's got a 9 inch rear end in it now and it's been virtually problem free.

Very cool. My dad had the same 289 combo your buddy was talking about. He had it in his 65 f100 shortbed with a 4 speed top loader. Sounded like the exact combo. Torker twisted intake, 750 demon, built 289 heads 11:1 compression. He was taking out big block mopars back in the day. It made me wanna build small blocks. From my first 306 to my 393 and now 13:1 351c. Ford rocks!

@@kingks3302 Great reply, I'm a red sealed master ford technician with a lot of bad experiences with Fram actually. Known issue for 5.4L phasers failing is the orange Fram filters believe it or not. They are absolutely atrociously cheap, cheap anti-drain-back valve and very cheap cardboard type end caps on the filter element. I've cut them apart and literally seen them fail internally and wipe out an engine. kzbin.info/www/bejne/joO1mKpqd5yFY6s

Neomustangs as my name suggests, youtube is broken. I can’t comment so I have to piggy back on other people’s comments. I’m a die hard LS fan. But I’m glad I found your channel. The content is awesome and you rekindled my interest in fox bodies. I’ll be building my first purpose built race car this winter. Thanks to you, it will be a Fox body..... haven’t decided on the brand of power plant yet. Every video you post makes me think swapping just isn’t necessary.
@jacksonstorm63955 жыл бұрын
@@youtubeisbroken241 it's not necessary to ls a fox. Been running windsor in them for years . Keep a Chevy Chevy, and a ford ford . There's plenty of ways to build power at all levels of budget . Ive got a buddy with a 4.6 2v in the low 8s(1/4 mile ) , it's about knowledge and the tune, taking time to do things right, and spending money in the right places instead of half assed throwing things together, and hoping for results. Look how fast Neo's black car is with a stock bottum end 351w is , you can go plenty fast with a ford mill.

Neomustangs thanks for the reply. I’m running a stage 4 puck style clutch and I’m having issues with the clutch overheating and after my burnout the clutch slips really bad threw all the gears. But once I let it cool off I can beat the hell out of the clutch
@youtubeisbroken2415 жыл бұрын
Jackson Storm for sure. My knowledge background is with the Chevy ls. That’s why I would consider that swap. I worked at the dealer for a while, and I have build a few mild (very mild) chevys. I have never torn into the 5.0 except to replace head gaskets for a customer. I know out of the box the ls is cheaper and makes better power, and the aftermarket is a bit cheaper and more plentiful. But seeing what this guy does with a such a small budget is awesome. I never knew the potential of a basically stock engine with a turbo on it. I’m all about cross brand swapping though. For a while the quickest stick shift car was a Nissan chassis powered by a Toyota 2jz. And a pipe dream build of mine is a hellcat foxbody.... hellfox. Reliable, streetable, 10 second car. Basically the hellcat on a major diet.

Hey I know the season is about over. But was just curious if you had dealt with boosting a 302/351 with a carb?

Single plane Intake boost reference fuel pressure regulator boost reference msd box upgraded valve springs stock every thing else and make a blow threw carb out of a 750 holley and either use an on 3 kit or built your own kit and run 15psi or less and your good all u need to do is re gap your rings other wise

Nice, thanks for all the info on your videos and in forums. Just wondering what RPM your limiter is set to and where your shifting? Looks like 6000+? on the video? From most posts it looks like the safe zone is only 5500-6000? I'll have to get some videos up, I'm building a twin turbo Aussie Falcon 5.0 (explorer/GT40P) stock bottom end, ARP head studs, Felpro H/Gaskets, Heavier Valve springs, Running MS3, 1000cc Injectors, E85 (So plently of fuel). Trying to get the highest RPM without breaking the thing. Its in a 200SX (240SX/S14) currently with 4:1 diff (Hence RPM). Cheers John, in Australia.
