I want to add a few things about Gendo since I watched the rebuild movie series and in the final movie we get to see Gendo's past and his motivation clearer. In the finale we get to see how since his childhood he always remain alone due to his fear of being hurt similar to Shinji. He reject forming relationship believing by doing so he won't hurt others and he won't get hurt. He only find bliss in reading books for he sees comfort in seeking knowledge and playing the piano for he sees comfort in music. Only after he met Yui where he finally feels his life became more colorful. He form relationships and finally found someone he can fully be open with. After her death he finally felt how lonely it is of being alone. He felt empty and pushes others away as he pursue to fill his emptiness in his heart by finding ways to revive Yui. He even pushes his son away to punish himself as he felt that he didn't deserve to be his father. In the end of his plan he failed to find Yui and blames himself for being too weak to find her. Only when he opens up to his own son where he finally found where Yui actually is and decide to abandon his plan.

It's nice to see a fellow Cognitive Function and Enneagram analyst on here. Your username is an excellent play on words. I also enjoyed your artistic representation of your Ennegram explanations and typings :) Although, I did feel they passed by too quickly to read and enjoy without needing to pause the video to see what it fully says. Either way, this video is well done and has challenged my personal analysis, which I respect greatly. To reinforce that point, you had an excellent argument for Asuka being an Enneagram 4. I was under the interpretation that her insecurity manifested from how her mother preferred the doll over her, therefore creating an inferiority complex and justifying an Enneagram 3w4 fixation. But your argument for individuality, which causes her to need for external validation to reaffirm her identity, is quite interesting and has challenged my understanding of her character, which I view as a positive! "Proved by her standards" was one of the lines that really pushed the Enneagram 4 angle over 3, which would focus on the external first rather than the internal, as you pointed out. It's also interesting how a majority of the characters in this analysis have an "SX" bias. Overall, this video is fantastic, and I'm subscribing; I look forward to seeing your future videos :)

Rewatching often gives us a more nuanced perspective. The Asuka argument was the highlight for me as it was well presented and the examples you gave were solid. I've studied the theory for quite a few years so it's always wonderful when I can learn something new or have my beliefs challenged and you did that well, good sir :)

🎉🥳🎉 I haven't seen NGE but still... nice analysis. Though I wouldn't necessarily use the same sources for information, it was still quite thorough... I would attribute the Sx6 counterphobic preference to the Sx instinct's need for disruption and tension in conflict with the E6's need for predictability and clarity. So, Perhaps the first character is more like a counterphobic So6 by the way you described him. Also, Sx9's too have a conflict between the Sx instinct's need for display and conflict and the E9's need for harmony and "non-location" (I forgot what it's called, but it's essentially concealing their true self behind an agreeable persona) In the case of Sx9's this conflict is seen in the shape of a certain "cheekiness" or poking fun with others to create that tension, so idk if that last character also has this. (All Sx+attachment types have this conflict between them, as they strive to both adapt to their environment's needs and seek to be sought for "their true selves") Again, nice 😁 tysm Sx9(25) VELF 🫶🏻
