Melt and Pour Soap Making Melt and Pour Soap Neon Soap Tutorial for silicone soap mold
In this tutorial I am making a melt and pour soap with neon pink in shea butter and activated charcoal in
clear glycerin soap base. I have done charcoal with neons in CP soap but I don't believe I have done this
in meltand pour soaps because I did not think it would work or look good.
I used neon colors from StarDust Micas.

When u first started this I'm dumbfounded watching u rip them so so apart like it was a drive by lol I said that lol! My son said what r u watching? I said " a drive by she killed it it was a drive by soaping! " lol then u stuffed it in the mould but then u took it out and cut it and my goodness u go Gangster soap maker lol! Absolutely stunning. Every time I watch u I always start thinking " what the frig is she doing?! " and then drive by! Lol u totally blow me away! Very talented! I've been doing melt n pour for a year and big never ever would have thought this up. My brain just doesn't work that way. Ppl tell me I'm creative al the time but I don't see myself as creative. Not like u. I would love to see u do cold process. If u do that with melt n pour I'd love to see u kick cold process! I do my first cold process soap today!! I'm nervous and excited.

You are becoming very skilled with M&P and have no shortage of ideas to maintain variety. This is a really effective soap design in pink and black and looks fun to create aswel. Apologies for my absence, my son and I celebrated our Birthdays this month and I had other things on aswel. So I'm doing catch up with your tutorials.

Does your soap sweat after you repeatedly reheated your melt and pour? Just asking cause Katie from Royalty Soaps has said that is a big no no.

Hi lovely, how come you never get skin on the soap in your jug? I always get skin on my soap in the jug within a minute while it sits on the side but we use SLS free Stephenson soap. Don’t know what make you use. Thank you

Hi Anna - I LOVE this! I have watched this 4-5 times...getting a little slower as I get a little older I guess. (Ha) I would like to add an exfoliant - some sea salt, loofah shavings, walnut shells...something. Would I add that with the charcoal? Make it a different layer? Is that too many additives for M&P? Ack! So many questions. I had emailed you a couple of weeks ago but am afraid you never got it as you didn't respond. Or maybe you just don't respond to the crazies? 😉 Anyway, I really love your videos and am attempting several of the processes you have so expertly laid out. I'm just curious about adding the exfoliant to this soap. Any help would be appreciated more than you know. Keep making videos - I'm addicted! xx

Thank you for sharing. Why don’t you use loaf Moulds instead of using that flat silicone tray As for Melt & Pour Bases - Whether it’s Goats Milk, Shea Butter, Clear, Ultra Clear, Opaque is that are all Glycerin Soap Base.. You can achieve a Awesome Swirl into Melt & Pour Bases by using a loaf mould just like the CP Soaps can.

i have 2 questions @KoalaSoap.. do you add any oils to your Melt and Pour Soap and secondly do you buy any of your soap bases from Hobby Lobby or Michael's and if so what was your experience with them.. That's 3 questions.. lol :-)

Hello, Generally, I do not add any oils or butters to the MP base it is can make it behave badly. I would look at WSP as they have different bases made with different ingredients. I buy from Amazon and WSP. :) I have bought from Hobby Lobby and Michaels in the past but only if I am out of base. Have a wonderful holiday. 🌻

Hi, maybe you or someone here in the community can help me out with my melt and pour. I really love melt and pour, designing them and making them is so much fun, but the final product is usually just... meh. The melt and pour only lathers up in warm water. When using cold water, there is some gel consistency that you can ONLY feel. So you feel that there is a little bit coming off, not really enough, though, and there is no visible lather whatsoever. In warm water, it works okayish. The lather is not great, but it's there. I tried adding sugar and SLSA. The sugar didn't help at all, the SLSA increased the lather in warm water a very tiny bit, but it still won't lather up in cold water. And one more thing: The soap bars seem to only be super solid when it's cold. When it's a bit warmer in the bathroom, they bend rather easily. Is there anything I can do or maybe something I am doing wrong (too hot, too cold, wrong/cheap M&P etc)? Or will I simply have to switch to cold process soaps to get soap that actually lathers?
@koalasoap8435
@koalasoap8435 5 жыл бұрын
Mine always lather, it may be the brand. I am not sure about the bending, all I can think of is, as the soap gets thinner is does become more bendable.

You could have too much fragrance. You could have too many additives like different oils for the skin. It could be the type of Base that you're using. Not all bases are good with lather. Once you find a company that you like... Stick with them. If you want a little more lather.... Add shower gel Base to your batch. One tablespoon should be enough not more than two. You don't want it to be soft. The softness of your bars are due to your additives and if you used too much water. Try not to leave your soap in water puddles. Store your soap in a travel soap container. Hope this helps.

@@dulcejohnson6602 Thanks so much for taking the time. In my very first batch last year, I definitely used too many additives. I made some test bars with absolutely nothing added and they did not lather at all, so if there's nothing I culd do wrong during the process, you're probably right about the brand. What I don't understand is that this is the bestselling brand with nothing but good reviews wherever I look :( Very disappointing. I'll try the shower gel tip next time, because I have 3kg left of that company's M&P and I wouldn't wanna throw it out :) Thanks again! :)

Is there a reason you don't use a wooden mold to take care of the misshapen mold issue?

Yes, They don't make any that small that I like with a silicone liner. I make small batches and if the design sells well, then I will do a 2 lb loaf in wooden mold. I find that this works best for my business. 🌺

@@koalasoap8435 thank you for the quick reply. I seem to be missing something, I went through all the links and still can't find it.
