I love BKL. I love sheers. I love shifty shimmers. BUT I feel like we’re just not seeing enough variety from them this year. The vast majority of the polishes in their collections and mysteries have been sheer shimmers. I’m getting bored with them at the moment, which is making my wallet happy but my polish loving heart a bit teary. 😅

I generally find that most people aren’t going to buy a special base coat to wear their nail polish so I opted to show these as they are straight out of the bottle. For my own personal preference, I am opposed to using a white base with neons. 10 years ago sure I would use one but now for me, if I have to wear a white base with a neon I’m going to skip it for one that doesn’t. I don’t wear blurring bases for that same reason. I like sheers as they are so blurring bases aren’t really for me.

Commenting partly for the algorithm. For anyone who wants to know about the books, the main story is a duo but a third book has stories about the side characters from what I've seen. I read the first two books and wouldn't call them spicy. The books have romance, loyalty and magic as some of the main themes and they were enjoyable to read even as someone who doesn't love romance books. The polishes are pretty but for me they would just be expensive toppers/ layering polishes. I don't enjoy anything that shows vnl since mine is so wonky. Great video as always!

Sky-fire would be the ONLY one I consider buying. It's a nice neutral color. If I'm going to pay that much for polish, it should cover the nail line in 3 coats at most.

OK, I am probably wrong, but I thought this whole collection was being released WITH a new VNL blaring base coat called Phantom Base? I mean, the collection makes way more sense that way? But now I feel like I dreamed it or something... edit: Sorry, got to the end AND yes, you covered the base issue...personally, I prefer some sheers on their own, and some with a blurring base. Some trial and error is definitely involved... . . . Yeah, ALL the spoilers all the time!!!!!

I liked these in the bottle, but they are too sheer on the nails. A shame, because I'd like a true neon (or just really vibrant) shimmer collection BKL. I saw from Caitlin's video that they are being released with a white base and I really don't want to use a white underneath my shimmers.

I'm trying NOT to avoid all of these sheers because of staining by getting some undercoats. I would love to see you swatch these on the wheels with the Phantom and others such as Night Owl milky base coats - mint with aqua, strawberries with pink, and honey with yellow. I have Milk and Sugar and Milk and Lavender and PFD blurring base coats peach and lavender. I found the Milky collection leveled so well. I didn't get that impression from you or Caitlin about Phantom.

I didn’t pick up the NOL milky collection and don’t think I will be tbh. I think I might get the white and pink shades at some point to use for bases but not the full collection as I don’t wear that type of finish often enough. Phantom self leveled nicely but it can pool a little if you use thicker coats. I noticed that if you overwork it, you’ll get a less even look but that seems typical for sheer whites in my experience.

Why did she even brand these as neons? Sometimes she locks into a concept past the design phase and doesn't pull up! I bought the Night Owl neon jellies and am now waiting on the Cirque Colors collection. I have several good neons already that haven't faded. So, I'm looking at different formulas or unusual colors.

Huge mistake as I'm now more invested in this collection than when I saw the earlier swatches/hints. Therefore, I get The Celestial Kingdom being white but am confused by the Demon Realm being all light. There are No Prizes in the Game of Hearts is the heart-rending quote. I've been trying to build in a few more pinks in my collection as I have all the purples.
