I currently have the flow but i always want to jump on the new hype lol. I've come to the conclusion that it's all personal preference..One may excel at certain things but overall it just depends on what you like.

That's a great observation, and I couldn't agree more! I'm a huge fan of the Flow... one of the paddles I used the most this year!

Great review, and right on the morning of launch day! I'm excited for this paddle, but currently play a Monarch AC so not sure if it's different enough to justify the purchase. But, I did love the soft feel of the flow so much that I might have to give it a try...

That's a good point, and a very mature reservation, haha... I wish I had your restraint sometimes... 😅

Another great content and review Dustin of the Neonic Flare Prime X, does the Prime X competes with the Bantam ESQ-C 14.3mm version, btw I do have the Bantam ESQ-C 14.3mm version Aurora colorway it arrived already can't wait to play with the paddle
@PickleballMedicineКүн бұрын
I'll be interested to hear what you think! I think you'll find the Flare Prime X to feel very fast and much lighter in comparison. lmk!

How would compare to the Monarch All Court 14mm that has more pop than the 16mm
@PickleballMedicineКүн бұрын
I think that's a good question.. I would say comparable sweet spot, and pop goes Flare Prime X > 14mm MAC > 16mm AC, Power goes Flare Prime X > 16mm MAC > 14mm MAC

Thanks for the awesome review! How do the power and pop of the Flare Prime X compare to the Pulse V?
@PickleballMedicineКүн бұрын
You are welcome! I would definitely say pop is higher with the Flare Prime X.. power isn't crazy different, but may be a little higher with the Pulse V just because it's a heavier paddle and you can impart more force with it on harder swings (before lead tape to the Flare Prime X).

I’m torn between this model and the discounted Ctrl one. As most of my paddles are control. And I’m looking to get more aggressive but not to crazy. Thoughts? I have a halo max, prism v7, and lux control

One paddle I tried and liked how it played was the Holbrook Aeros S. So I’m not sure how they would be compared to these 2.
@PickleballMedicineКүн бұрын
Hmm, tbh I haven't hit the Aero S yet, but in terms of my recommendation between the two neonic ones, I prefer the Flare Prime X more and will probably recommend it more often than the control one, and for a person in your particular situation the slightly more robust construction of the Flare Prime X will likely offer a little more stability and consistency, but the less powerful Flare Prime is such a good price, too.. considering they aren't likely to continue making the Flare Prime and last I checked it was super cheap, I think it's resellability would probably be pretty good.

would you recommend this paddle or the monarch all court for someone coming from the M2F 14mm?

What other paddles are in your favorite list that said you liked besides the prime x?
@PickleballMedicineКүн бұрын
haha, that's a great question... I do still have a few upcoming to test, but I would have to say that for me and my playstyle, and considering my strengths and weaknesses, my short list includes the Flare Prime X, the PB Apes Pulse V, the Olympus, and maybe something a touch more powerful like the 3S. Still have just a couple in the cue, though, haha 😅
@helloman3676Күн бұрын
@@PickleballMedicine I'm a big fan of the Spartus Apollo. Its my go to paddle, so how do the Olympus compared? I had not got a chance to tried it because it too expensive. If they are similar with more power, I might switch to it.

How is it so much more maneuverable than the esq or alw when swing weight and weight is higher?
@WayneHays-f4x15 сағат бұрын
Great review as usual. I suffer from tendinitis in my elbow and shoulder. Of the newer hybrid shaped paddles is there one or two you could recommend that might help alleviate some of that pain? Thanks
@alexpazmino4762Күн бұрын
Does the prime x have more power and pop than the j2 k pro ?
@PickleballMedicineКүн бұрын
I would say so, yes, certainly for pop. Sometimes, power can be a little more subjective because it takes into account both what a paddle does for you on its own and what a user can do with a heavier paddle. Some people who swing a heavier paddle easier may feel less power increase on drives moving from the J2K Pro to the FPX, mostly because the j2k pro has more mass that can be imparted, but on its own, I think the FPX does much more of the work for you.
