I think He's right. They should focus on restoring the site to its former glory. Forget making a 3d rendition, just make the game function like it should, and introduce new content now and then with the same original foundation. Neopets story is just sad. I feel like in another timeline it could have been one of the biggest culture phenomenons of our generation. I wonder what could have happened if they had continued to improve their website while developing an integrated mobile app around the early 2010s, while they still had money. Instead of Pou, we could have had an official Neopets pet app. It could even have Pokémon GO-like features.

I started playing at the start of this "new era" of Neopets and I just gotta say that I love the changes that they've been making. Many games are playable again, the Faerie Fest event was INSANE, and the addition of Daily & Weekly quests to combat the aftermarket inflation issues have been welcome additions to the Neopets Experience.

god i was so glad watching the whole adam / borovan Spectacle go down in real time in the neopets server. being one of the starboard reactions on “i fucking hate neopets. i wish i never made it because of this chat” was absolutely golden in the moment in all seriousness though, i’m glad that they’re expanding their scope and from what i’ve been seeing, a lot of more involved fans seem more than happy to support the new team and a lot of their new endeavors. and i’m definitely one of em 🫶 i’ve genuinely even gotten a handful of friends to join as new players!! and from what i’ve heard, quite a few others have too. i honestly adore seeing new people become fans of something that was a part of my childhood and i still actively enjoy to this day. i hope TNT keeps going in the direction they are with a ceo that seems to genuinely care about what he’s in charge of.

But instead of nonsensical side projects and cash grabs, the team has stayed relatively focused and is doing better now than ever. Neopets had a case of the Kingdom Hearts effect.

I've never even played Neopets, but just from what I've seen and heard about it, the new owners owe it to the fans to return the game to its former glory. Maybe I'm in the wrong here, but I genuinely think that Neopets would benefit from turning purely mobile. You make sure all the games run on there, you make the map touch-interactive, I think it would be great. Most kids now-a-days are on tablets and phones, it's how most of them absorb their media. Neopets was on the PC because that was the only media it had. I think truly going mobile with the website would be the evolution it needs because it would be reaching out to the type of customer that wants it. The site does need to grow, much more than it has now, but it needs to grow up not out. This is out, and I feel like they're dynamite fishing. They're throwing out as much as they can and hoping their explosions yield results, and probably find which one(s) works the most and focus on that/them. I honestly wish Neopets would make a huge comeback. I was banned from it when I was 7 because I gave my password out to a website and got hacked when I was traveling to New york with an almost traumatic vividness. I never wanted to go back because I felt wronged, and knowing the site felt like it was on crutches for as long as it was didn't make me feel like it was worth my time when I cared enough to even remember it. Even so, I want it to come back. I want it to thrive, to live, to do better. I want to see Neopets live.

So to be completely fair about World of Neopets, it's not being made entirely from the ground up. It's reusing the assets that were being used for their crypto project before and repurposing them into an actual mobile game. And those assets look GREAT, so I'm really hopeful about that one. As an active user on the site, I can confirm that it is on an upward trend in terms of quality. I'm hoping that their new mobile game will lead to them getting the funding they need to maintain and give the site the bigger updates it desperately needs.
