Possibly the best invention I've ever seen for that purpose.

The metal pin left inside the rivet makes it more of a sturdy rivet.

This is not new but improved. I used a gun that is about 50 yrs or more old that looks and works as the video shows. The fastners are called Chobert. They are a pain to drill out because the fastners spin when you try to drill them out. Hate them! would rather have regular pull fastners or solid but chobets ARE cheeper.

ximenoworks You're correct Avdel (Aviation Developments at the time) invented the Chobert back 70+ years ago for the Aircraft industry. They've developed many variants of Speed Fastening since then for different applications. The latest NeoSpeed has external spines that bite into most application materials, typically preventing spinning when you need to drill them out for repair.

+ximenoworks My primary issues with the rivets shown in the video are twofold: For blind rivets, being an aircraft mechanic, I use Cherry rivets, which resemble Pop Rivets, but the stem/mandrel is locked via a collar in the base of the rivet, preventing the otherwise malleable rivet from loosening up. How does this system prevent them from falling out due to vibration? Considering the mandrel gets pulled all the way through the rivets themselves, and the shaft has to fit all the way through the hole, the gripping power would be half that of even a POP rivet, and nowhere near what you get out of Cherry or solid rivets.
