I have to say, the BEST adventure documentary on KZbin, others tends to advertise, this video showed it as if we were there. Also, these adventures can be done for $8,000 per person or $40,000 per person, choose your tour guide carefully as these routes are not for the fainted heart, so many unforeseen accidents happens there due to everyone rushing to get to their destinations and lack of following the rule of the road.

Thank you for bringing a lot of fond memories from my own trip to Nepal and Tibet in 2009. The bikes were old trusty Enfield Bullets and off-roading, and plenty of it was on landslides, roadworks and no-roads. But generally Bullets were coping mechanically better than your bikes however is seems that we were riding tad slower. Cheers from Australia.
@OllieMoto
@OllieMoto 3 жыл бұрын
Sounds like an awesome trip. I think that these particular bikes had been well used, and maybe not well maintained, but they still coped with whatever we threw at them! Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
@andrews.8158
@andrews.8158 3 жыл бұрын
@@OllieMoto Saying the Bullets coped better was probably a bit too positive statement. One of the bikes totally burned all of electricals on the first day (fortunately close to Kathmandu) The clutches were replaced on practically all bikes over the length of Nepal leg (1180 km) One person finished in hospital and had to be sent home. But that's adventure. I'm now 71 and retired and still ride but on tarmac only.
@OllieMoto
@OllieMoto 3 жыл бұрын
That sounds like an incredible adventure. To be honest I find I enjoy it slightly more when things go wrong, maybe not at the time, but when you can look back and say ‘yeah we sorted that!’ then it’s a great sense of achievement. Obviously I’m not talking about the injury though! Take a look at my Morocco series - we also had a lot of drama on that one so maybe that will also resonate with you! 😂

@andrews.8158 3 жыл бұрын
@@OllieMoto I did watch all the Morocco series with real pleasure. Mishaps like petrol tank key do happen and later we remember them fondly. My choice of bikes would be different (lighter) but it's individual choice. Hey Ollie - I am going to be candid (and leaving a long comment). I am a biker myself and I don't watch a lot of these videos. I was actually searching for Himalayan bike related videos and ended up here. When you said your group took about 9 hours to do 211 Km on the first day - It felt like - this group is just a bunch of boys out there to take some pictures and go home. So I decided to skip this video. But in the next couple of frames I felt there is something special about it and now I just completed watching the full video - So, decided to leave a comment. THIS IS JUST AMAZING. It felt like I was riding as a part of your wonderful group and experiencing each and everything that you all did/have gone through (many other videos lack this connect with the viewer - precisely why I don't watch them). Man - You deserve more subscribers/viewers/likes. Keep doing this wonderful stuff. - Your new Subscriber. Cheers !
@OllieMoto
@OllieMoto 3 жыл бұрын
Ah man, thanks for the kind words! Ha, that 9 hours / 211km was purely because of the traffic - we didn’t want it to take that long! I always try to make the viewer experience the adventure like I did but, for this particular trip, I was super lucky to meet Nims who (as I say in the movie) gave me the true Nepali experience. He is an absolute legend. Everyone should have a Nims! 😂
@krishnakanthmula6223
@krishnakanthmula6223 3 жыл бұрын
@@OllieMoto Couldn't agree more . It was absolute fun watching Nims throughout the movie. He was amazing. I have had a similar experience when I went to Ladakh ride a couple of years ago. My bike broke down in the middle of the snow mountains of the Ladakh valley - A truck driver (Narong - but like to be called Raja Hindustani) helped me get to Leh town along with my bike and find an accommodation for that night. As you rightly said - what stands out almost in every ride is the people that you meet during the trip. It feels a lot of love and kindness is still left on this planet when you talk to them - wow. the best of Nostalgia :) - Btw, give a heads up, incase you plan for Leh, Ladakh anytime - Would love to come by and say hi to your group. Also, If possible, leave any social media handle of Nims here - so I could try and meet him when we go to Nepal next year - Cheers !

7 min's in and here are my first comments & questions. 1: How long did it take to produce the opening title sequence? 2: It's so well put together, I might as well give up. 3: How was it riding proper bikes (wink). 4: How long was it before everyone thought the seats were literally a pain in the bum (that's the sitting kind, not the two legged kind, tee hee). 4: Lastly, I need one of those T shirts to go with Webley MK II!
@OllieMoto
@OllieMoto 4 жыл бұрын
Haha, questions after 7 mins! Good effort. 1) I dunno how many hours (or days or weeks) but it was a long, long time. Animation takes forever. 2) Never give up! 3) No one actually complained about the seats. I rode for two days and didn’t have an issue. If you mean Seats, then everyone thinks he’s a pain! 😂 4) Ha I only have one left cause I gave the other to Nims, and I’m afraid I’m keeping it!

@@OllieMoto I actually live and work in Malaysia so I went there to interview workers in order to choose them and hire them for my factory. For that, I went to Kathmandu, Pochard and lahan which is 8kms away from the Indian border. the trips were mostly for work so it was a shame I didn't have more time to really visit the country. Took us like 9 hours to reach Lahan from Kathmandu due to the poor roads conditions but that was like 12 years ago....my last trip was 5 or 6 years ago and Kathmandu had changed a lot ! even danced salsa in a restaurant there, what a great memory

@@OllieMoto also, I had the best coffee and paying sandwich of my life there. a coffeeshop was roasting their own coffee beans 8nside the shop and the smell and taste were to die for !
@OllieMoto
@OllieMoto 3 жыл бұрын
Haha, that coffee story is awesome. Yeah it’s such a cool place - Nims told me how the roads seem to change every time he heads into Mustang. It’s making it more accessible as time goes on, which is both bad and good. Good to bring money to those regions and make things like medicine etc more easily available, bad as it might dilute the way of life (according to the locals I chatted to).
@laurentkl
@laurentkl 3 жыл бұрын
@@OllieMoto you are right, like any country who is developing, it brings good and bad things. I love the relax feel there, how nice the locals are, how vibrant the colours are and the various smells you get to experience there.
