Such an informative video brother! Well said! I live in USA currently and am a student. The thing that you said about belongingness about how we don't feel part of this community is something that I can related 100%. I think, if a person is skilled enough and can secure good source of income returning back home, a lot of people would return. People with no tangible skills working abroad like " ghanta hannu", cannot get back to Nepal as they cannot actually earn with their skills in Nepal while a lot of people having good expertise can get back to Nepal. People who have good skills, if they feel that the VOID they are having abroad is not worth it, would surely want to get back to Nepal. For me, I’ve made up my mind-after 4-5 years of working hard and building my skills, I plan to return to Nepal and give back to my community. I see so many Nepalese abroad struggling with this same question: to stay or to go back. But I believe that one day, RETURN MIGRATION will become a reality for many of us. The VOID we feel here is something that reminds us just how much home truly means.

​@@bideshmanepali Sure if that helps the new generation on Nepalese and yourself... I came to US after completing my ISC in Nepal in 2002. Like everyone, I had a dream to experience the lifestyle of outsiders. Loved freedom, the political stability in compare to Nepal and not to mention the overall lifestyle in US after completing the Bachelor and getting the first well paid job. Everything seems nice till you realize after you get married and have kids of your own. The life in USA is monotonous life. Its same almost everyday. The thing I miss most is the culture and the sense of belongings which I find only in Nepal. the other reason is kids grown in Nepal seems to be lot smarter and hard working in compare to kids that are born and raised here in USA. Basically kids raise in USA have no knowledge about the hardship and the true value of life. Once they are teenagers, the attitude and problems and in a whole new level. Another thing I don't like here is discrimination. There is no doubt you will come across various situation where you will be looked down just simply bcoz we are considered outsiders. Another issue is the taxes and expenses. You will never be rich and have peace of mind in USA. If you have no job you can barely survive 6 months simply due to ton of expenses such as mortgage, insurance and car payments. In case if the US economy collapse and gets layoff, the difficulty that you face here will be 10 times more than in Nepal. So basically, there are many other personal reasons that I don't like living in abroad in compare to Nepal which may not apply to others but for me it started due to my life expectancy, needs and based on my life experience. When we are young we think only about ourself but as time goes by you have to think about your wife, kids and parents that live in Nepal. Which will create lot of problems when we decide to live for good abroad. Good luck for your future!
