Cool Video, I got Fighter and Magic Initiate for firebolt, but I really missed celestial warlock, it's surprisingly fits his character perfectly, I don't know how many anime you've watched, but I'm suggesting Seiya from Overly Cautious Hero, if you haven't watched it, I highly suggest it, it's really funny

Aiz Wallenstein from Danmachi would be interesting to see. Some spoilers about Aiz Aiz has Spirit Blood running through her veins. She has 1 magic spell named "Airiel" which is basically a wind barrier around her. Her speed, defense, and attack are stronger. She has a single skill names "Avenger" witch involves an active trigger. Witch increases attack power against monsters, it's even more effective against Dragon type monster, and becomes more powerful the more anger and hatred she feels. Airiel and Avenger can combine together where Aiz is surrounded by black wind and is her most powerful state. Her weapon "Desperate" is unbreakable but did crack in the past when using the combination of Airiel + Avenger.

Interesting. I can see Airiel being the Warding Wind Spell, but I'm not so sure about Avenger. At first glance it almost sounds like a Barbarian Rage, but that wouldn't work with spellcasting.

I also forgot that aiz is fluent in 2 languages, thr common language (written and spoken) and Hieroglyphics the language of the gods (written) and was likely her first language (as a child she wrote in Hieroglyphics naturally and needed help when writing in common language).

@@tabletopnephilim4633 you can probably give Aiz 3 abilities while still keeping to the spirit of her character tbh. I probably should have been more clear, but she can use Airiel and Avenger at the same time without going into the "Black Wind mode," this mode can be treated almost like a hidden ability she has. I'm a noob at D&D, but I've been thinking how I would create her character. I'd say Charisma and Wisdom would be her trash stats, charisma is easy to explain, have you seen how much she talks? Very little. Wisdom is a bit harder to explain, but I'd say to give her wisdom you'd expect from a 9 year old (with maybe -1 due to Lokis influence). Will include spoilers to explain wisdom at the end. I'm kinds stuck on what race Aiz would be. Unless Aiz is an exception to the rules and worldbuilding established in Danmachi, she can't be half-fairy or half-spirit or whatever, but she could be seen as effectively as a half-spirt cus of her blood. Unless D&D has something like "Blessing of the Spirit of Air" or something similar she would have to be half something. Spirits in Danmachi are commonly described as "children of the gods," if that helps narrow down a race. Spoilers for why I'd give Aiz wisdom of a 9 year old. She was born 1000 years ago and for as of yet unknown reasons she is in the modern setting at age 7, at present Aiz is 16, so thats where I got the wisdom of a 9 year old from (and probably lower cus of Lokis influence).

Why not give him Magic Initiate - Sorcerer so he could get Firebolt and make it dependent on his Charisma rather than Intelligence.

One small thing that doesn't really matter, but it is a tidbit for future reference, a Celestial Warlock does not have a pact with a deity. A celestial warlock pact is with a lower level being of the upper planes, like a Coatl, a Solar, Empyrean, or a Deva for example. Also, I feel like if you do any other Danmachi characters, Paladin would also be acceptable for drawing from a god.

Not bad. My only problem is the "everybody is a warlock" argument. We are translating from one magic system to another. Like making X-Men builds, it is difficult to make a one for one translation. Bell is a fighter, albeit a dextrous one. I understand your reasoning, but Bell isn't a warlock. The only spell he casts is firebolt. The Hestia Knife is not summonable. It's a physical item. Champion fighter with the piercer feat and the magic initiate feat for blade ward and firebolt and expeditious retreat. The piercer feat gives him a 3d6 on a critical if you consider the Hestia Knife a shortsword, which I would because who would arm themselves with just a dagger? Also the minotaur horn dagger is smaller, if I am remembering correctly. Everything else I agree with. If you want to pick up 3 levels of ranger hunter for colossus slayer and hunter's mark, that would be a more viable build, maybe. Hunter's mark is one of those spells that feels more like a class ability. Using that and colossus slayer would give our Bell a 1d6 base+1d6 hunter's mark+1d8 on each hit. That should put him in the average damage department as a standard fighter with a bigger weapon. You could even use favored terrain @ranger lvl1! You could flip the classes, but the more access to ranger's spells, the less Bell he is. So keep those ranger levels low.

It's not a perfect build, and I'd most likely do it differently if I remade it. But even if I did, I'd still make him part Warlock to get Eldritch Smite for Argos. Which isn't to say I'd make everyone a Warlock, but I can't see making Bell any other way. And if that means he gets a few abilities he doesn't actually have, then oh well. That's just what happens in this line of work.

As someone looking to use this build in a campaign, what would your advice be for after level 9? Would I stick with fighter for the rest of the build? Any suggestions on other feats or ability score increases later on?

Take Piercer a Fighter level 6, put the +1 in Strength, use that to take at least 2 levels of Paladin for Searing Smite. Then go the rest of the way in Fighter, capping Dexterity. Honestly, this is a build that I kind of want to redo completely.

Now that I can think of it, if you ever do an Ais/Aiz build from Dan Machi, how would you build it? I think she would be a Warlock and her pact weapon would be a rapier. But due to her nature and her wind magic I think the only solid way to pack all of those in would be a Storm Sorcerer to avoid mixing casters.

If I decide to do something like that, it will most likely end up being a Patreon perk. I would also probably only do the characters that I've "completed", meaning the ones I've taken all the way to level 20. For characters like Bell, I'll have to either finish them, or redo them, which I've been wanting to do but haven't had the time.
