If only my books could explain it as simply as you did, sir! Thank you 🙏🏼

M2 here... thanks! My professor never went into deriving the formula which made it hard for me to understand why we were using some of these electrolytes in the formula. Makes sense now, thanks!

Thnx a lot..it clear my doubt, I was more concerned for sodium potassium and chloride..but on other side UA and UC I think is more important

can it be seen in acetazolamide..positive urine anion gap

It's so good to finally understand this. I feel stupid for not learning it in pre-med, and I am about to become an MD lol.

first we have normal anion gap metabolic acdosis since if we are losing hco3 from gi then we are absorbing cl from kidney which compensate anion gap..but while measuring urine anion gap in case of nagma, to secrete excess hydrogen due to loss of bicarbonate from gi our body secrete hydrogen as nh4 which combines with chloride which gets secreted again..so ultimately we are losing both hco3 from gi and cl from urine as nh4cl..then how does the electroneutrality is maintained in nagma if we are losing chloride in the form of nh4cl when we are supposed to reabsorb it
