Actually not really. Nephtys had about 4 cards before this archtype showed up (Nephtys, Meta Nephtys, Dark Nephtys, Hand of Nephtys) and then there was the Link that heralded it.

ktvoid 27106 It was popular in duel links for a while, as well as many of the other recent archetypes that have received legacy support. Think Konami is trying to get people to make the switch to the physical tcg by releasing more familiar archetypes. But yeah, there isn't much point in this stuff for tcg players.

What they should do is make a field spell card that allows you to activate all of their effects on the same turn that they were destroyed and sent to the graveyard and make them all become quick effects.

A Nephthys field spell sounds pretty good. I would prefer it have a Fire King Island approach but special summoning them onto the field but destroying them during the end phase (or for a decent nerf, shuffling them back into the deck)

Unfortunately not. Both of their "if destroyed" effects are to come back from the GY, but they cant if they werent Ritual Summoned first and Ritual Foregone is a special summon.

Gotta admit the ritual focus threw me of for a minute but i suppose the whole "priest who whorship the Original fried chicken" has it make some sense. I'm already amazed you can now use pre prep to search a spell and two monster, but aside from that it doesn't have much that is noteworthy. Guess we will see if they get some more cards to speed up the playstyle, otherwise i would stick to teching these in some dino build like mentioned in the video, or maybe use these to supplement a fire king build (the whole wind monster might screw with the consistency though). On an unrelated note, since konami is pulling out old gx cards to make archetypes around, will that mean we finally get the fossil fusion archetype in the actual card game instead of it being relegated to tag force?

Rituals and Spirits. I think Shinobirds could have been cool, but losing your board presence (which cost 1 or 2 additional cards) every turn without any way to even get your Ritual Spell back so you can reestablish your presence next turn (if you even get one) is just *really bad* design

The Rituals are fun, but this (run pure) is pretty much literally just Slower Metaphys. There’s not even a compatible deck with enough level 8s to warrant playing Trade-In, because most compatible decks only run one level 8, if any, and some of those level 8s (Dark Destroyer) are limited. At least they snuck in the Pre-Prep qualifier to make up for Blue Phoenix not working with normal Prep, but it’s not enough. You’d still probably have an easier time making a 3-Ritual Link 3 in Nekroz
