I worked for my city water dept. for years and have installed a lot of the Neptune meters. We had a change out program throughout the city, changed the meters about every 12 years or so. We were constantly changing out meters, I have probably installed a thousand meters or more. We used 3/4" thru the very large fire line meters. The T-10 is a good meter. They seemed to test out good even after many years of service. We did have some problems with the registers at times, we used the electronic registers wired to an Sensus mtu, also had tons of problems with the mtu,s how ever that was not the fault of the meter itself. We were one of first cities to convert to radio read meters. At that time we had about 60,000 accounts. It was one of the best jobs I ever had. I have been retired about 2.5 years now. nice to see something about my old trade. I hope the problems with the supply side of things, comes to an end. seems to be no end to shortages these days. Good video.

What kinds of problems did you have with the MTU's. Also off the wall question...Is it possible to put a 2.5" register on a 2" T10 meter or is the thread mount going to be a larger diameter?

We’d have to get a bit more context, but in theory we believe it should fit regardless of meter size the register is normally the same size. Hope that helps!

Just had some installed, but seems to be running fast unless I’m reading it wrong. I have it wired to a digital display and the numbers matches up but when I run 1 gal of water through it, it picks up 7 on the last digit.

That's not fun to see, sorry to hear that. Feel free to reach out and we'll be happy to trouble shoot it with you! sales@submetersolutions.com It sounds like the meter might be programmed to measure in cubic feet instead of gallons, could that be the case?
@apexcapital1328 Жыл бұрын
@@submetersolutions Found out the last digit is in 1/10 of a gal so I was told to ignore the last digit. Normally the last digit on most meters are set to 0.

Hello - what is the probability of the meter reading to skip forward at a specific point in the rotary dial? We think potentially the cogs could be jumping, creating a faulty meter reading. Have you ever seen this? Or does anyone know other common issues with this meter that could produce an excessively high meter reading?
@submetersolutions4 ай бұрын
Great question, we haven't seen a meter skip forward. Normally for cogs, it stops spinning, but wouldn't cause jumping ahead. Are you seeing the high usage on the meter face or on the reading system it's attached too? We'd be happy to help if you email sales@submetersolutions.com, thanks!

I got oil like substance leaking from the bottom of the meter. It doesn't seems like there is oil inside the assembly. What could be the issue?

Can someone reuse the meter fittings or should they be replaced with each meter swap?
@submetersolutions Жыл бұрын
Great question, if they are in good shape you can totally reuse them. We do that a lot. But if you’d like to replace them it’s only a few bucks each! If you’d like more info, let us know sales@submetersolutions.com

We used 5/8", T-10 Neptune gallons water meter. January 11, 2023 reading is 150284 gallons. July 29, 2023 reading is 151175 gallons. 151175-150284=891 gallons. Is this calculation correct? What does the last number black zero mean? Every time I see it is zero, it seems not working. Thank you
