Got a Dos for Christmas. This is by far the best gift ever, in a week it has taken my wildly varying alk & cal levels to dead on stable. I can test at any hour of the day and my levels will be right where I want them.

I just got my DOS over the weekend. Before buying I watched this video several times and found it to be very helpful. However, what would also be good to see is it actually being set up. A lot like you did with your new pumps. Actually seeing you add this to a system and the going into Apex Fusion and setting it up from start to finish would take a lot of the mystery out of an awesome product. Just a thought.

What happens if a pump/ motor break or fail? Let’s say I do auto water change. Will the other pump/ motor continue to operate and possibly overflow the tank? Will apex notice the fail?

So if they last 200-300 hours, then do they need replaced every month?
@Stralnikov4 жыл бұрын
I have the same question.
@paulwoodley4898 жыл бұрын
Hey, so you mentioned that it lasts "oh 6 or 700 hours" but with 24 hours in a day that would put these out of use in a month (25 days) if it's being used constantly 24h a day. Even if it's only used for 6 hours a day then it's life would effectively only be 4 months. Is this correct or was it a mistake? Thanks

I also caught the 600 hours thing... I like the idea of the "automatic water change" but I'm a bit confused if it only has a 600 hour lifespan?!

the motor don't run 6 hours a day, to dose a 50ml/day (as an example) will likely last 30mins/day.. i worked in a medical profession and we use dosing pumps medical grade with patients narcotics..

I use this for AWC. If I could do it all over again I would go with a different system. It’s super loud and if you have a large tank it would take forever. 150 gallon tank with a 20 gallon WC makes the DOS run every 10 min. as it has a limit on the amount of water it can flow. I am not sure why they make you run the lines on remove water side different, but sure makes it a pain in the ass for manual removing bubbles in the line with dos button or just testing as the interface runs it as a DOS’er which makes run backwards.

What system would you have used?

In the video you mention 1Link replacing the power cord, do you need the aquabus cable with the 1link when using with the new apex system ? I do not have the 1link module I have the new apex.
@NeptuneSystemsVideo7 жыл бұрын
No, simply get the 1Link male to male cable and then connect the DOS to the EB832 with that. No Aquabus or power supply necessary.

Can you daisy chain units off one 1-link as I have 2 wav pumps on the other ports

Looking to use this for auto water change. Could a siphon be created through the DOS or has that possibility been addressed?
@NeptuneSystemsVideo6 жыл бұрын
It is possible during a catastrophic failure of the pump head. For this reason we always recommend placing the location of the DOS in a manner that mitigates this risk. Also, an in-reservoir or in sump siphon break can be used to help prevent a runaway siphon situation.

Can I use two DOS systems, with only one APEX controller? APEX Fusion will allow me to control the 4 pumps?

I have 3 Dos pumps and love them but the tubing is horrible! To stiff to straighten out in all 3 pumps bought at different times.
@NeptuneSystemsVideo9 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately all the pliable stuff we tested would not last with a wide variety of fluids. For instance, some of them when using a highly acidic fluid would turn white and harden.

It's kinking when I try to straighten it though. Making it useless.
@NeptuneSystemsVideo9 жыл бұрын
I have never had this issue. That said, just like a garden hose, if you let it warm up a bit, and then straighten, it will be more pliable.
