Background on each song: 1. Knights of Pleiades: Epic piece about our matrix reality and the spiritual warriors beyond it. The Knights of Pleiades here are Nordic alien Wanderers, both incarnated as humans and in their original form up above as "air support." The opening melody originated when I wanted to write a joke reggae song but was so horrible at it that I defaulted to my usual epic otherworldly nature and so this song was born. Recorded in 2008. 2. Under Neptunian Horizons: Both the verse and chorus melodies, as well as some of the lyrics, came from a couple dreams. In the first dream, I was on the rocky dark blue surface of a distant planet. This tall blue-faced ubermensch stood there and began singing what became the verse to this song. In another dream, I was walking around a pond with a wise master and his disciple, when he turned to the disciple in a stern manner and sang the chorus melody. Most of the lyrics in this song tie into my Gnosis work (see montalk.net/gnosis). For instance, "in a ship of copper 'round the circle blue" refers to Finnish hero Vainamoinen entering the maelstrom in his copper boat, leaving this world behind but promising to return when he was needed again, symbolizing the descent of higher consciousness beneath the threshold of our current state of awareness. 3. Gnostic Insurgence: Metal piece in 3/4 time signature about enlightened individuals battling enlightened tyrants. And how sometimes they're not even human. By "not even human" I mean that both the negative elites and positive truth crusaders might include people who aren't really human, but higher beings or aliens in disguise. The dark ones have no light shining through them. The positive ones have an unusual aura about them. Mankind is caught in a tug of war between these higher powers, with some humans participating in struggles that they don't always know are lower extensions of this hyper-dimensional war. Nor do they know that non-human beings can participate in those human struggles because its outcome affects their own interests. 4. Deep Black Lake: The imagery was inspired by a dream I had, as well as Philip K. Dick's book "Galactic Pot Healer." In the dream, people were hanging out in a sunny resort town doing leisure activities. I took a detour and stumbled upon a dark swamp with a deep black lake surrounded by tall gray trees. Something took me to the bottom of the lake and there I saw the same people from earlier, naked and chained to the lakebed, barely kept alive in state of suspended animation by breathing tubes. The whole leisure scene earlier was just their hallucination, and being trapped deep beneath the dark waters was their true condition. This symbolized the spiritual condition of humanity, slumbering in the depths of oblivion while dreaming they're living the "good life." At the end of the dream, I cut people loose but not all had enough air in their lungs to survive the trip to the surface. There's an eerily similar story in M Night's movie "The Visit" as told by the creepy grandmother. The movie came out after my song. 5. Prevail: Pretty much every conspiracy discussed on montalk.net in a single song, especially the loosh farm, alien agenda, and end of the world timeline split ("timeline separation, quantum bifurcation"). I wanted to do a robo-metal piece that was heavy yet melodic. "Fire in the sky" is an obvious reference to the Travis Walton abduction movie, but also to the fiery conflagration that demarcates a shift in astrological ages (i.e. solar and cometary cataclysms). The vocoders were inspired by Neil Young's excellent album "Trans" (1982). Yup some people really hate vocoders but they're so strange, nonhuman, retro-futuristic, and thus amazingly artistic and symbolically useful. 6. Redeem the Fallen: By "fallen souls" I mean both the human race (3D STS) and higher negative beings (4D STS), especially the latter. Both are fallen souls, but we're only halfway there while 4D STS have chosen it fully. The possibility of redemption of evil is a Manichaean concept. The prodigal son allegory illustrates it, and you also see it portrayed at the end of Wizard of Oz and Chronicles of Riddick when the dark soldiers bow down before the victors of light. One of my best songwriting accomplishments. The angel choir after "singing for you now" is my favorite melody of all time. 7. Lunar Thanatos: The progressive vocal change from extremely robotic to entirely human and triumphant symbolizes the transmutation from mechanical to truly conscious existence. Mechanical existence is depicted in the strange lyrics. There are references to Bob Dobb's theory on tetrads, my old zero / first / second order being concept with "fractal inferiority", ahrimanic transhumanism with "black electron hole", Odin with "hanging from", and Gurdjieff/Ouspensky with "alchemy of do re mi." The original musical concept was to merge a religious sounding hymn with otherworldly robotic vocals for the juxtaposition. Originally conceived and recorded in 2001, and re-recorded for this album in 2011. 8. Lost Return: The verse and chorus melodies came from a dream. I was lost in a remote park, walking around a pond as the daylight grew dim. I fell asleep and was rescued, and awoke at a visitor's center. As I looked on a map trying to find my way back, this young girl stood next to me and quietly began singing this song verse. I responded back with the chorus. This was all a metaphor for our spiritual condition in life, for trying so hard to find our way. It was the last song recorded for this album, and came after I requested to the universe for one more song to complete it. So this is a gift from "above." 9. Searching for Agartha: Song about being a truth seeker. "Searching for Agartha" is about the glories and challenges of truth seeking ... of being a fringer and waiting for the shoe to drop as nothing happens day after day, yet the world marches on anyway toward its inevitable finish line. Atlantis is of the past, and we are moving forward; it's a dream lost in time. Agartha is the mythical city at the center of the earth where an underground civilization of advanced humans dwells, something that has always existed and continues to exist in parallel to our world. In this song I'm using it as a reference to the 4D STO civilization on/around earth, which is our future and thus something we will find, unlike Atlantis which fell due to degeneracy and is a relic of the past. The final two lines in the song are dedicated to all my beloved peers on this quest for truth and freedom.
