I love everyone's responses - "this is their best album since ___" and each person says a different album. In Flames catalogue is by far one of the most diverse, polarizing discographies I've ever seen. Foregone seems to walk a nice balance of giving something to all of their fans over time - some of the newer sound, as well as showing their teeth with some aggression in others. For me personally? Best album since Come Clarity :)

true, I personally a little vit disappointed because all songs we already knew before release stand the best tracks for me ans didnt enjoyed any else song from the release, but still a way better album than what they did recently. you are right the whole album is a good mix between what made in flames so many of us can find something

That does not mean that the current way to stream music is good for the bands. It just what they have to do, because no one is willing to put down 15 bucks for buying the acutal album. Imagine how many times you have to stream the entire album before the band makes 15 bucks from it... Spotify is cancer for the artists. Especially smaller artists (inFlames is a "smaller artist" compared to the most-streamed artists on spotify such as Drake or Taylor Swift)

That's the song/power ballad I tend to skip but I do feel like they are closer to former glory days than they've ever been on this album as a whole. Maybe the extra time for songwriting is responsible for this. Still nothing can top the first 7 or so albums for me.

Half of the album is great (prereleased songs with music videos + Bleeding Out, Dialogue in B-Flat Minor for example), and the other half of the album is just forgettable filler. You can't change my mind and there's no defending this. One of the songs starts like Bottled kind of, lol. I, the Mask was better overall, but the listed songs bail this album out. They did pull in the effort to make some aggressive and fast songs like in the good old days. Bleeding Out should have opened the album tbh. I loved every album of In Flames except the Lunar Strain and even find value in the albums most people hate to this day and often listen through all of them so you could call me a big-time fan, but I do not see myself listening to half of this album after the initial looping of it the entire day when I got the leak (1 day before official release). I'll just play the favorites (which are truly GREAT by the way and excel above the best songs from previous few albums). Did they just... run out of inspiration half-way or something?

Happy birthday!! I hope you'll get to pick the music today haha I'm only 21, but my connection with In Flames is special! The first time I saw them, I had just turned 16. I was in the front row and had a blast. I saw them 4 more times before the pandemic hit. During the pandemic, my life really went to shit, I didn't know back then that the next time I'd see them, I'd no longer be able to stand in the front. On my birthday in 2022, I got to see them again, only this time I was in a wheelchair, tucked into a corner of the venue. Despite this, they somehow noticed my presence, and they tried (and succeeded) to throw me a plectrum. I was on the balcony, tucked into a corner, seated with my head barely seeing over the guardrail in a completely packed venue, and they still noticed. These guys actually see you in the audience, no matter how small you may feel. This is one of the many reasons why I'll always appreciate this band, from the very first record, back when I didn't even exist, up until the last!

The first In Flames song I heard was Moonshield from the jester race album. How I discovered them was actually through the Japanese manga Bleach when the series author Tite Kubo revealed the arrancar Ulquiorra Cifer theme song as Moonshield. Tite Kubo didn't stop there, the main villain Aizen Sosuke theme song is Stand Ablaze from the In Flames EP Subterranean.

Wow this is pure class! Stunningly beautiful melodies, and I've always loved Anders' voice but it sounds like he leveled up on this one, production is top notch too, everything sounds so clear, I could go on and on, but I'll just say, I am absolutely loving this album. Martin, In Flames was my gateway as well. Reroute To Remain's Freefall was the tune that hooked me. I've, like yourself went deeper into metal and those same notions came to me as well. Bands evolve and for a while I thought In Flames was to far gone. But like you said, this album was refreshing. I wish Jespar was still with them but I still enjoy this album. This album i so far one of the best albums since SOAPF which was the last album i really enjoyed. Many songs here are really reaching back to the roots of when i started to listen to in flames. I really enjoyed the nostalgic feeling together with some calmer and really good songs. #InFlamesWeTrust

Honestly, this is the best album I've heard from them since Come Clarity. It's a nice mix of all the best aspects of their older and newer music. The energy of the older music and the epicness of the later music. They found a good balance in this one. The last stuff I heard from them sounded far too radio-friendly and kinda lame. This is pretty damn good!

It's definitely in part an homage to earlier decades of their catalogue, but it really does feel super new at the same time. They started attempting to dabble in that kind of new/old mixture with Battles, and improved on it greatly with the last album, but it's exciting to see them really perfect that specific formula here. Sometimes In Flames can miss with an album, but I'll always respect how much courage it takes to keep experimenting over the years, it keeps you on your toes! The early 00's era riffs mixed with Ander's clean vocals are such a wild ride, it's exciting!

In Flames have been an intimate part of my life for well over a decade now. While I prefer their older work from Lunar Stain to Clayman, I love every record they've put out in some capacity. This one is a rare mix of the old and new sound which I think appeals to most eras of the fanbase. I was in college when Siren Charms came out, I started university when Battles dropped, graduated when I, The Mask released and now Foregone is here days after a near death experience.

I couldn't even begin to count how many times I've listened to this entire album. Every single time I do, I love it more than the last time! It is quickly replacing Reroute to Remain for my favorite album of all time! Absolutely perfect balance between heavy and melodic and fast! Pure perfection as far as my ear holes are concerned! Me hace tan bien y feliz escuchar a InFlames los conozco de hace años por lo menos del 2004 llegaron a mis oidos y tenia el come clarity del 2006 original que disco ese tan bueno. Este disco tambien suenan excelentes voces y baterias que es lo que me gustan escuchar de las bandas es lo que hago. Asi que increible Inflames espero vengan a Chile de nuevo sera magico. Como las 2 veces anteriores en el pais creo que son espectaculares. El 2007 vi Arch Enemy suecos tbm buenisima banda, Meshuggah tbm los vi el 2016. Por ahi 6 bandas estaria tan feliz juntos Inflames , Soilwork, arch enemy, the haunted, meshuggah y Clawfinger. Creo que las bandas vikingas son enormes.

@Nemesis86 for you is its overrated. I think it depends on what you like, in particular, about metal. I think Come Clarity was the top of the mountain for In Flames. Tracks like Take This Life, Leeches, Reflect The Storm were particular favorites of mine on that album. You could listen straight through those tracks. Come Clarity was song that was coming, considering the roots the band had and the commercial success they had due to its "soft" rifts. Pacing Deaths Trail was fucking Metal! That opening lick was creative and is lyrical content was on point! Then congress Crawling Through Knives! Holy fuck! That chorus went to my spirit, and I was on metal wings!! ALL OF THIS WITH JESPERS AXE 🪓 GRINDING ME INTO OBLIVION!!! Say that shit to me in the pit!!!

My word, what a fuckin raging release ! The riffs on the State of Slow Decay song. ... pure badass. And at that point I figure that the songs will mellow out for a while until the next burner, then Meet Your Maker comes up and slaps you in the metal ear! Aghhhh! Björn is and has been a HUGE inspiration for me. I still can't believe that I caught his pick once... This is the sound that got me into the good shit. Thank you boys for staying true for so long. Found my first In Flames album at the Basic side BX on Ft. Sill. First thing I bought as an adult, with money I had earned. Get that same feeling every time we get a new album.
