Well, he was an accomplished melee fighter, and never lose during a gun confrontation, he trained with firearms, he had that silver tongue, and get this. So he was basically in this debate with a person about understanding the poor, and what he did is something that one could argue he had either a Keen Eye for the protrusions of the surface - or he had some kind of Superman x-ray vision. Because he was basically clad in Golden underneath his initial layer of whatever he was wearing, and Lincoln somehow knew this. Of course that 16th president is going to be op. Look at his video game traits -mhele attacks -eagle eye -sharp shooter -exray vission - plus 10 speech skill

For clarification, the reason the Moth Priest is in Skyrim is because of Harkon. If you side with the vampires, Harkon tells you that he intentionally spread the rumor of an Elder Scroll being discovered, so that a Moth Priest would venture over to Skyrim to hopefully read it. This is also why they knew where he was located; they knew he was in Skyrim and were already looking for him

Localized entirely on the road you just happened to be on?". If you had to go to the High Priest of Solitude or Windhelm first and *they* said "oh yeah we heard rumours of an Elder Scroll being found so sent out word, odd that the priest isn't here yet" and that triggered you to go bar hopping then it'd at least make more sense, plus give the Dawnguard an idea that someone was spreading the rumours. Dawnguard's writing knows the characters it wants involved, but does a really crummy job of getting them into the story (e.g being forced to go along with Serana with "take me and this Elder Scroll to my father and ask no questions Mr. Vampire Hunter", which is just stupid of a Dawnguard-aligned Dragonborn to do).

This whole concept of the time traveling and dimension hopping emancipator who's willing to literally burn slavers alive but also will stubbornly only use weapons he's familiar with and wear a suit fit for a politician, is absolutely incredible and I love seeing it. I usually only watch your Fallout stuff because I don't play anything else you do runs in, but I watched a bunch of your Skyrim videos to get to know the game and your style before this came out, and I'll absolutely watch any more Lincoln videos you make. The encounter in Fallout 3 with the group of escaped slaves obsessed with Lincoln really gives me this vibe about these runs - Abraham Lincoln, the Emancipator, an old story from ancient human history told throughout many universes even centuries after his death. People know he's long dead, but the desperate slaves of worlds that still consider slavery normal or even morally right to do to enemies, share the stories and legends and pray that he will come to save them, and then he actually comes, kills all the slavers and all the vampires, and sets everyone free that he possibly can without creating a larger problem by doing so.

To be fair, the Temple of the Ancestor Moths in Oblivion was in the Jerall Mountains, literally the border between Cyrodyl and Skyrim. I think it's entirely fair to expect to see Moth Priests and their ritual sites in Skyrim considering that level of proximity. Abe was also a very accomplished fencer, having won duels with his giant reach. He would totally know how to competently use a light, one handed sword/sabre. For example that Akaviri katana you get in the Blades' temple would have been scary in his hands.

I do believe the reason you don't just assault Castle Volkihar instantly is because the Dawnguard is still meant to be gathering strength for most of the questline- you don't have all the named members yet and there's probably a ton of unseen minor members that have yet to be recruited (As seen in the presence of generic dawnguard in the vampire side) Essentially you're getting the scrolls and the bow before Harkon can to stall for time and ensure he can't complete his plan while the Dawnguard mobilizes

FYI, a saber would have historical precedence for Lincoln. He was challenged to a duel and chose sabers. Given his height, he can use a much longer saber, which combined with his much longer arms, gives him quite the reach advantage.

Theres another version of the woodcutters axe thats called the poachers axe. You can improve it but it requires the arcane perk to do so, which means leveling smithing to 60. Its as fast as a dagger, and is affected by the onehanded perk. Definitely wouldve been the better choice IMO.

You left out the best part. Lincoln swung the sword over his head and cut a branch of a tree to show his reach and power, and the other guy just noped tf out. And it all started because Lincoln had written a newspaper article under a false name in which he calls Shields (who was the state auditor) a "fool as well as a liar" for siding with the Democrats of Illinois when they wanted to make people pat taxes in silver and gold. Shields got Lincoln's name from the newspaper editor, followed him and started sending letters basically saying "take it down and apologize publicly" and said there would be “consequences which no one will regret more than myself” Lincoln basically responded with "ask nicely and maybe I might bitch"

@@thaguy69 while shields was known as being vain and pompous, everyone blamed him for the financial problems the state faced at the time because the previous guy in charge had dumped all of his "homework" on shields, so to speak. Though Lincoln himself didn't want the duel to happen, he did kind of instigate it by criticizing shields in the news and then egging him on in further replies. Though his reply was less rude and more "if youre more polite i will apologize", and Shields declared a duel, as he had stated prior the next time he was insulted he'd ask for one. By this point Lincoln had realized it was getting out of hand but because duels were still seen as a way to show honor, he had to accept. Because he was the challenger he chose cavalry broadswords as weapons, and the duel was to take place in a circle with a plank in the middle neither man could cross. Lincoln believed this entire thing was getting ridiculous but Shields wouldn't back down, so he used his sword to start hacking the limbs of a (i think, cant remember) willow tree high above his head. Keep in mind Lincoln had done much physical labor in his life due to being poor, and he was much taller than Shields, so to the observers there was little doubt in their minds Lincoln would've killed Shields if they had actually fought. Shields was humbled by the display and Lincoln apologized sincerely, and later on during the Civil War actually gave Shields a high rank (captain, IIRC), who then served with distinction. Lincoln himself hated the duel and he didnt like to talk about it. When asked later in his life if it was true he fought a duel to impress a love interest, he said "I do not deny it, but if you value my friendship you will never speak of it again."

You know, I think due to the era that Lincon is from he would be familiar with how to use firearms. Making Crossbows something he can use. But would rather not use due to the reload time. So thanks to that, he would be more in favor of certain War Axes that he can get as long as they're something he is morally able to use. Such as the Steel War Axe or even the Nordic War Axe.

Another way to prevent the Vampire Disease from getting to you (along with other diseases) is the Necklace of Disease Immunity. It's very expensive and only appears at Radiant Raiment from my experience. You will have to sacrifice an amulet slot next time you do a challenge run that has you deal with Vampires.

It can appear at any shop that has leveled enchanted necklaces, including any and all general stores- though you'll have to be higher level that you would if you get it from Radiant. Belethor is a good place to check when you hit level 30.

Fun fact: The option to talk your way past the Thalmor in "Missing In Action" is either bugged or altered from the original intended quest progression in the base game. You're able to speak to the guy at the gates, then you're supposed to be able to talk to Tullius in Solitude to get him to give you a note that you then give to the guy at the gate, which would then allow you to just go to the prison and have the Grey-Mane guy released without incident. Note the fact I said "supposed to be able to". The bit where you talk with Tullius isn't actually in the game (whether that's due to developer oversight or a change in the way they decided to have the quest go is beyond me), meaning the only way to actually complete the quest is to kill your way through the fort, or to add a mod that actually patches that interaction (which still exists in the game's files) back into the game (iirc, the Unofficial Patch adds it back in, which suggests that the prevailing theory is that it's a bug).

Minor points you could have done too in this playtrough. There is Derkeethus, the only argonian follower in the game. He is held prisoner by the falmer in the darkwater pass near darkwater crossing. The falmer can make people into their thralls. A few of them you could 'liberate' in Blackreach near that big lamp. Another vampire quest is Dark Ancestor, you could have gotten in Falkreath. Not a criticism at all, but I wanted to mention it, fur completionist sake.

If I'm remembering correctly, Dark Ancestor requires you to steal from Lod, which I think Abe wouldn't do. And technically if you never do that, then the wardstone never ends up being stolen. Also Bloodlet Throne can be cleared even without the quest, to be fair.

52:19 Honestly, if you want to freely be able to enter and exit the Soul Cairn then getting partially soul-trapped is the better option. You'll always be able to return whenever you want. If you go the vampire route then you'll be locked out on return trips unless you become a vampire again (because the Dawnguard force you to cure yourself before the main quest can continue). Though the only reasons you'd ever want to return is if you really want to do the optional boss in that place or to grab anything you might have skipped over, or forgotten.

Hey Nerbit, I haven't finished the video yet so maybe you do find it later (and it's a bit too late to tell you now lmao), but there's a unique woodcutting axe called the Poacher's Friend near Whiterun at Halted Stream Camp! It's the only upgradable woodcutting axe in the game, and if I remember correctly it scales up in damage with one-handed enchantments and perks. I used it for an entire vanilla playthrough, getting it up to 100 damage! Hopefully this will save you some headaches in the future!

I think I'd allow Dawnguard "anti-vamp" spells. If they had been available in his universe I am 100% certain the master Slayer that is Lincoln would have learned them. In this run it might not have been too useful though, just an observation. Edit: You might be remembering the mine instead of the Miraak Temple with the dragon priest.
