Just think, A Spider Man game with the swinging quality of Spider Man 2, the animation quality of The Amazing Spider Man, and the story quality of Spider Man 2, Ultimate Spider Man (great game, those of you who don't know what it is should check it out), and Spider Man: Shattered Dimensions. That's what developers are getting wrong, they're separating the good things between games.

Psycho Bastard They didn't have free roam but, it was almost like Batman Arkham, where there were a couple ways you could go about finishing the level, mainly in Noir. It would have been much better with free roam, especially if you got to change between the spiderman freely.

I can happily say that I never once finished Spiderman 2. I did, however, play it for WAY over 100 hours. The web swinging and the side missions were just amazing and brilliant and fun and it made you just simply not care about the story in the slightest, just mess around, riding the train for the simple pleasure of standing on the roof of a moving train. It was brilliant.

Come to find out, androids don't need government, so they took to eating the "evils" of the past. They already devoured the movies, music, and books, so the next target was video games. I let them cook me up a fresh Halo 3 stew, and it tasted pretty good with paprika, but then they turned on my copy of Spider-Man 2. I pulled out a Glock 97 and shot one right in the face. He didn't bleed much, seeing as he had no heart to push blood out of his veins, and his running mate held a vote with the others if he should kill me or not. The vote was indecisive, seeing as the Democrats spent so much time wanting to ban killing altogether that nothing got done, and the Republicans were so busy complaining about what the Democrats were doing to actually change anything either. I then told them that the universe was born from a giant Cosmic Skunk Fart, and the last I saw of them was them arguing if I was right or not. In short, yes, I got it.

When I first started seeing reviews for Amazing Spider-Man everyone was saying how great it was that it had 'open-world' Manhattan to play in and that it was somehow new since Spider-Man 2 did it... But 2007's Spider-Man 3 (Toby Maguire trilogy tie-in) had open-world Manhattan, gang/crime fighting, the same side-villains this one seems to have as well as fun web-swinging with very similar mechanics as '2'. I know the movie was pretty horrendous but the game was actually really good.

This game had so much potential but they wasted it. When I first saw the gameplay trailers I thought they were inspired by the Arkham games and tried to apply their gameplay to a Spider-Man game, which would have been fucking awesome! But they messed it up. They hired crap voice actors that had the same amount of talent as a potato, the storyline was weak and boring and the controls were really wild and crazy and just moved to fast in general, making it really hard to understand where you were and what you had just done. The stealth mechanic had potential with the whole crawling on the ceiling thing, but it was really disorientating. I enjoyed web slinging through the city though, even though it would have been better if the webs actually attached to the buildings (Spider-Man 2 could do it and that game was made 8 years before this one, so why couldn't they do it here?). However, there came a point in the story where these annoying robots attacked you whilst free-roaming through the city and they were actually really difficult to kill and that ruined the web slinging for me because I was always worrying about getting attacked. The bosses were really far fetched ideas, like the giant robot that Dan attacked in the video. I know they included some real Spider-Man villain boss fights like Rhino and Scorpion but they weren't like the villains they're supposed to be. They were animal-human hybrids whereas the real villains are guys in costumes and this really bugged me. The boss fights weren't even remotely exciting or difficult either. I quite liked all of the features of the game though. I liked how you could unlock different Spider-Man costumes like the Tobey Maguire one and how you could collect comic book pages that are hidden throughout the city and actually read real Spider-Man comics once you had collected some. Also, on my PS3 edition, I could play as Stan Lee which was kind of cool. The random crimes were fun at first but just became repetitive and boring after a while. There was also the "rescue-the-infected-people-and-take-them-to-quarantine" missions and the "capture-the-escaped-prisoners-and-return-them-to-prison" missions which also became really boring. Overall, this game had so much potential and they ruined it. This game could have become a real AAA masterpiece that would have sold millions of copies like the Arkham games. Oh well...

Actually in Spiderman 2 he would actually latch onto a building, If there was nothing to latch onto you couldn't perform the swing. The length of the web also remained constant so you needed to be careful not to make one too long or you'd smack into the ground. You also needed to build momentum in order to get anywhere.

Hey The Amazing Spiderman is one of my favorite games especially on the Wii u because you get all the DLC where you can play as Rino Lizard and Stan Lee and there are even some cool costumes and comics you can unlock it is a very fun game but I can agree that it's a little too easy

I recommend playing the GC version of Spider Man 2 on the Dolphin emulator. It can be rendered at 1080p or more with all your usual effects, you'll never want to play it on a console when you see it. PS2 emulation is a thing as well, but PCSX2 isn't quite as featured as Dolphin.
