Nice collection Dan :) though sorry to be picky ( It's not your fault they labelled it badly), but the Romulan ship is not a WarBird, it's the Romulan D'Deridex Cruiser. Also the gap in the middle could be used to tractor smaller ships into ( As the D'Deridex is HUUUGE even compared to the Enterprise D, In scale the Enterprise E can fly through it.) so they can be boarded behind the cloak and out of sight. (Or at least that is one of the theories other than "Warp Fields")

It's officially a D'Deridex, however the vast majority of time on screen it was referred to as a warbird. That is the more common name for it so not incorrect to label it as such. The reason given for the gap in the hull by Andy Probert who designed the ship was so that the warp nacelles could have line of sight with each other. Back in the day that was one of the rules of starship design which has now gone out the window.

The design of the front part of the Defiant is because it could be used as a missile when all other weapons had been disabled or run out of ammo. And the ship's number is based on Rod Roddenberry's birthday.

Ironically. I think the NX-O1 Enterprise from eaglemoss is roughly in scale to the Dimond Select Enterprise D and E. And I bet nobody else apart from me cares...

I don't know if I count but the major reason I'm against getting any of these types of sets is because they are not to scale. To me, if they aren't scaled correctly then they are a wasted effort. They still look cool but they aren't for me.

You are right the Ent-E in cannon is 685m long and the NX-01 is 225m long. so the NX is about three times as small as the Ent-E. The Diamond select Ent-E is about 50cm long and the eaglemoss NX-01 is 13cm long. 13cm x 3 = 39cm so not too far off form being to scale. :D

Trivia: The antagonists in ST:III were originally meant to be Romulans. That's why the ship was designed as a bird of prey with a feather design and cloaking device - like the Romulan bird of prey in the TOS episode "Balance of Terror." The Klingons never had cloaking technology until ST:III, and they wouldn't have had except that the producers wanted to save money by reusing the makeup and costumes used for the Klingons from The Motion Picture. So they changed the script to make them Klingons instead of Romulans. And we've never had a good film with Romulan antagonists yet...

I've got a ton of these I'm looking to sell, wonderful moulds, quality, and detail but I simply don't have room. The Romulan Warbird is a particuar beauty, but I put mine beside the stand on a small cloth- of dropped off the stand so much I was worried it'd get damaged.

Not many naval ships are lined with hundreds of windows, and there isn't much to look at in space. I liked the original Star Trek interior, adding windows to the ship would've meant adding windows to the interior.

As mentioned above, there is one at it is indeed beautiful, perhaps even the best of the Eaglemos models. Bit hard to get hold of but occasionally Ebay will help you out, although it is one of the more expensive ones (mine was minimally damaged so got a good price on it) :)

I must be the only star trek fan in the world that likes discovery. But I also think it´s thanks to all sci-fi fans being so damn picky we don´t see much sci-fi shows. Star trek discovery may not be the best star trek but is a good sci-fi show and there are already way to few sci-fi shows out there compared to all other shit be happy we get anything at all.

The only things I like about discovery is the ship design and the uniforms. On a similar note, I believe that as a standalone, it would be a good series, but it is not Star Trek. To me Star Trek is about exploration, seeing what's out there, not one character trying to clean up her mess, but an entire crew pushing the boundaries of what we know, and discovery doesn't have that. I do hope that in future season it may go back to the way Star Trek is meant to be though, but maybe without the spore drive.

These models are good, but Eaglemoss are an awful company. Constantly late in deliveries and constantly lying to customers about when things have shipped. Avoid buying from their website if you can. Also, I wanted the Discovery ships but they decided to make them a different size and massively expensive.
