Quote of the video. "You don't have to go wild to have a good time". So true, many people don't get into circuit events because the perception is you need the ultimate to just be there. Great video. Amazing cars. Headphone users enjoy the GT3RS's at the start!

I'm really trying to keep that in mind with the DC2! Just do the basics and then get to the track as soon as possible. Upgrade components and such as driving dictates. The internet can really trap us in the idea that we need such and such part in order to drive the car. And yes! That car sounds amazing - proper race car!

3:14 LOOK AT THAT DAMN THING!!! See this is why I love Time Attack. You don't have to worry about restrictive regs, you don't have to worry much about contact so you can run CRAZY aero, you don't have to run numerous laps at a time so you can use a super small & light fuel system. It's just like "oh, you built your car this way, here's a class for yo. Have fun." Pinnacle bro, SOOOOO jealous you got to go to this.
@BRICKHOUSESPL2 жыл бұрын
That's for sure. It's definitely one of the draws for me too. Of course being out right fastest is cool and there's some competition, but every event is just as much a competition with yourself and your machine to continually improve. For a time attack fan, having now attended this, I would say it's worth planning a trip around this event. Sure it's February and not great weather in Japan but to see such a collection of time attack machines in one place might be hard to match elsewhere. This event had a totally different atmosphere to the other smaller Attack events.

You talk about variety but all you show is FDs and S chassis.
@BRICKHOUSESPL Жыл бұрын
I enjoy both chassis and have a long history with s-chassis so I definitely gravitate toward them. FD's probably had the highest representation at the event (or in Japan time attack in general) so naturally there's going to be more of them to look at. But if you made it through the video, you'd have seen I took a look at BNR32's, Civics, A80 Supras, 32 GTST, CRX, etc. I didn't go out to the track entrance/exit wall so missed a few cars there, but what I showed was a good mix of what was in attendance...or at least what caught my eye. One thing I've learned about having a YT channel is you have to stick to what you know and enjoy otherwise the content suffers. Like Evo's are cool, but I don't know anything about them really...and then there's cars like Miatas/Roadsters that I just don't really find interesting; so putting that stuff in the video kind of kills the flow or energy. There's plenty of no talking walkaround videos on YT but that's not my style. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment! Attack Tsukuba 2023 is in a couple weeks!

@@dsx5036 Oh yeah, those are perfect examples of cars I'm not super familiar with and/or have niche followings that don't really match the channel. It's solid feedback though. I'll keep it in mind this year and, if I see an owner with some free time, I'll ask for some details on the less mainstream stuff. But yeah, I kind of enjoy seeing all the different ways you can "do the same car." I think that's one of the neatest aspects of time attack - choose your base and then let your imagination go wild. I haven't felt anything like that. Extra looks because I'm a foreigner is normal but nothing obviously Covid related. I wear a mask as much as possible to put people at ease because they're wearing them as well - indoors, outdoors, etc. 98% are wearing masks by personal choice. Hopefully people start to relax a bit as the weather warms up more making them even less comfortable to wear.

@@BRICKHOUSESPL lol hopefully facial relief happens this summer for you. That's kind of nice that people respect each other more so there. @@ohoiboi9818 much appreciated. The mindset certainly is more of "concern for others vs. my own comfort." As you noted, it's kind of the opposite of some American thinking and that can certainly take some getting used to. I think the main thing to keep in mind is that the way of doing things in Japan isn't wrong, it's just different than what you're used to. Mindset plays a big roll in "success" (however you define it) in living here.
