Oh awesome, glad it was helpful. There's really a surprising amount of shops in a small area. Bee-R is pretty close to the Up Garage as well but I didn't realize that until after this. Just takes a lot of hunting for addresses and google mapping locations to kind of plot out a day of running around that makes sense. Tolls get expensive so have to play it smart. haha

A bit late to the show but you could have heated up the metal subframe and freeze the bushing then they would go in easier.
@BRICKHOUSESPL
@BRICKHOUSESPL 29 күн бұрын
I tried that a bit. Maybe wasn't long enough but also I don't know if there's that much movement since it's mainly a big rubber bushing. Freezing normally works with solid aluminum inserts that would expand or contract at a constant rate, but the metal sleeves on these were such a tight fit I'm not sure if anything but a proper press would really do the job.

Yeah I've been thinking the same thing about these replacing 240sx. They are new, nice to daily drive, honestly the HP isn't bad and can be fixed with tuning and forced induction. I've daily driven a 240sx with a stock sr and my new 23 BRZ feels similar in hp if not better. Yeah the turbo in the sr made the car have a surge of power but you can get the same feeling by turbocharging a BRZ/86. At the end of the day the 240sx was a low HP drift car that could be modified however you liked and was practical to daily and saved you tires and tought good form. The 86/BRZ is just the modern day version. Low HP, unlimited mod potential, practical to daily drive, saves you tires, and teaches good form. The 240 had its time in the 90s early 2000s. The 350z filled that hole in the 2010s. Now it's time for the 86/brz to shine.

When Power Vehicles was the main support company for drifters at Ebisu they encouraged you to use cars that they had spares for. They didn’t have spares for 350Z so people didn’t use them. Now SideX uses 350Z they probably have plenty of spares available hence people are using them. 😎👍🇯🇵

Yeah, that makes sense. Up until a few years ago, it was totally different market. JZXs and s-chassis just don't make sense anymore unless the buyer is trying to live out a dream. I'm not sure if PV even does the rental buy-back program like they used to.

How much would I need to make to live like this without wife and kids. I want to enter Japan with 10k a month. Is that enough for an apartment and an Integra Type R?
@BRICKHOUSESPL
@BRICKHOUSESPL 29 күн бұрын
All depends on where your located and what kind of lifestyle. 10k a month could possibly get eaten up pretty quick if you're in a happening area of Tokyo or Osaka, but, if you're in the outskirts in a reasonable apartment, then you'll be living like a king. If you're in the country, then it will cost even less. Japan is quite cheap overall but can get expensive if you make it expensive.

@BRICKHOUSESPL
@BRICKHOUSESPL 29 күн бұрын
Hope you got it sorted out by now but yahoo auctions is usually where I turn for anything that's discontinued. There isn't a big aftermarket OEM equivalent parts market here so that usually means trying to find one used. If you're in America I would imagine Rock Auto or any parts store would have generic branded ABS sensors.

Never been a big 34 sedan guy, but you changed my mind with this video. Some of those sedans look amazing, especially liked the ones with the OE style wide body added. That purple one on the matte silver TEs with the 26 swap is so good! But also, I'm here for the Toyota 4-door truck. That thing looked like a giant Kei truck 😂
@BRICKHOUSESPL
@BRICKHOUSESPL 6 ай бұрын
Yeah, the Okubo Factory widebody, bumpers, wing, etc. really makes for a complete GT-R conversion for four doors. Such a cool look. And yeah, it's all about maximizing the limits of the vehicle registration system. Vehicles get really boxy to build them out to the max width and length. That one looked to be a pretty new truck with a more pedestrian look though. Normally they're white or blue and basically work trucks only. No one who wants a "truck" really drives them in that manner...those people just drive imported Silverados, Tundras, Rams, etc.

So in Japan, it seems like the goal of the mechanics is to actually fix the vehicle and work like a team. In America, it seems like the mechanics are pushed to make profit over actually fixing anything. And I have yet to even see any American mechanics work as a team like this.

I'm not really sure how it is at other dealerships here. Being a DIY guy I do most stuff myself, but, after spending a lot of time in their lobby buying parts and listening to conversations, I got the impression their income comes from a salary versus a job/bid/upsell system that I've heard is used in America. Like these guys just do the work and get the customer on their way. So maybe less of a competitive atmosphere. They also talk directly to the customer in a lot of cases versus having a service writer (from what I saw). Again this is a smaller family owned dealership so their way of doing things might be more down to earth. I was also the last service work for the year so it was pretty chill. Haha
