I feel lucky that I didn't have to deal with this much. Most of them were busier getting into my pants and not caring about my knowledge. But as soon as I was with someone and there was no real way to get into my pants, that's when they decided they had to challenge my place among gamers. Agreed! I live in a household of 7 adults spanned across 3 generations, and it is actually super nice. I have lived by myself before but moved back in because it saves everyone so much money. Splitting all the bills just makes more sense to me. I guess a lot of people assume that if you live with your parents or grandparents, they are still taking care of you. Also, as far as SOs, you just move out when you are ready live together lol. My boyfriend actually decided to just move into the house when we started discussing living together. To be honest something I have noticed about girls who dress overly sexy is that they tend to have issues. They dress that way because they want the attention even if they will deny it to death. I say this as someone who sort of used to do the same shit back in the day when I was in a much darker place. When you feel like nobody notices you you will do anything to obtain that attention even if it’s directed as your body rather than yourself. Of course there can be other reasons that I myself also have but it more often than stems from a lack of self esteem or self worth and a need to be seen by others.

Dating shows/events always seemed so awkward and has a lot of creepy people. I'm sure some are genuine but it seems like a hard situation. I've never gone to one myself, but just cosplaying and socializing at cons did SO much for my self-confidence and is actually how I met my now boyfriend. Anime conventions are legit my happy place. Living in a tiny country town means the conventions are my chance to get away and be around fun and kind people who love the same stuff I do! But Ken is so right about there also being creeps. I've had drunk sweary men dance on me because I was dressed as Ada Wong, ive even had someone pick me up and try to dart away with me because I'm small and they thought it was funny. Staying safe is so important!

There’s a stigma about living with home. Sometimes things happen and life doesn’t go according to plan. I feel like the stigma should surround people who live at home but aren’t actively trying to do anything about it.

That’s probably why there is stigma around it.. the ones who are lazy/self centered are the ones that are featured in media - so it may cloud our perception of what these kind of individuals may be like. Sadly, the most negative of a population are often the most well known.

yep here in the UK its extremely hard to get a house/flat by yourself. Even with a partner people struggle. Plus for me I live with parents with disabilities so I also worry about what happens when I am not around to help. I do my fair share in return tho like paying rent, looking after the dog, cleaning up etc.

I can’t express how difficult it’s been trying to save and get back up on my feet but I found a new job and I only have 1 more class left. What I find interesting is when some geeky guys gatekeep and are straight up scary, trying to humiliate a girl in front of their friends and say a bunch of gross sexual sh*t and if she "passes their test" then they try to ask you out. Like... No! Do you really think that I would just forget that you were awful to me just a few seconds ago? Who the f*ck do you think you are to be testing me? What are your qualifications, sir? Many do not see a problem in sexualizing women so that's the energy they operate in but to women it's an *insult* to make any such comments AT ALL. Behaving like an uncivilized animal in front of a woman will make her think of them as a sexual predator because they are clearly showing that's all they care about and will use these "methods" to try and "attract" her for that purpose (and fail because we see it as creepy and degenerate). 9/10 times it's not in good fun and only the dudes are laughing. Also. Predator: 1. an animal that naturally preys on others. 2. a person who ruthlessly exploits others. "a sexual predator" Idk about you but trying to humiliate and publicly embarrass a woman then pursuing her in a sexual manner without concern for her feelings is rather ruthless and suggest exploitative tendencies which seems to constitute as predatory behavior. 🙃
