I am a huge fast and furious fan. Every movie is mindless trash but still brilliant fun to watch and I absolutely love them. But I have not watched a single movie since Furious 7. I have absolutely no interest in watching another Furious movie. And this movie especially just seems like a disgusting cash grab. This entire series was supposed to be about family, but sadly that has been completely forgotten. If they ever made another movie, focused on family and with only the original cast (with one sad exception) I would watch it in heartbeat.

In my opinion 8, Hobbs and Shaw and 10 are kinda worth watching. Yes they're extremely stupid, objectively bad and have a huge Paul Walker shaped hole, but they're good fun as long as you turn your brain off (a lot like Transformers 1-3). Fast and Furious 9 on the other hand is terrible (apart from the flashback scenes) as the story feels extremely lazy and forced while also having action scenes which aren't interesting.

That's what happens when the Rock tries to take over your franchise. It was there with The Mummy, we were just too blind to see it since he was a new comer. the vast majority of people love hobs and shaw, it's only the pretentious film nerds who complain about it all day. It's a fun movie that you can enjoy without thinking too much, and that's the point of films for the most part. Entertainment. You can't get to 700 million box office if people didn't like it. And the other films you mentioned (with the exception of Black Adam, but even that I don't know for sure because we don't know how much of the headlines are actually true) probably would have flopped regardless. How do you know the rock had anything to do with their downfall? maybe the writers just did a bad job. People love making assumptions.

@@maskon1724 Yeah. There's a difference between doing those three things, and then doing them WELL. When storytelling is good, those things don't matter. Hobbes and Shaw is written like a *thirteen year old on Mountain Dew Baja Blast and coke* with an assortment of hackneyed "twists" and repetitive "tough guy" one liners that we had seen since 2011's "Fast Five". Hobbs and Shaw is a perfect reminder of why movies exist, namely to entertain. While I enjoy discussing films, this movie stands out because it doesn’t aspire to be a post-renaissance masterpiece or a philosophical think piece. Instead, it delivers pure, unadulterated fun. The chemistry between Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham is electric, funny, engaging, and consistently entertaining. The action sequences are fresh and creative enough to steer clear of being labeled as just another uninspired cash grab. Its box office success speaks volumes, cementing its well-earned place in the industry as a crowd-pleasing blockbuster. Sometimes, that’s all you need from a movie, and I definitely didn't need this nit-picky philosophical analysis of a movie which only serves to entertain, nothing less and nothing more. Movie viewers usually do not follow nor do they care what happens behind the scenes, they're just there for the movie. This video, I genuinely feel, is a first miss by Nerdstalgic in my books.

Recently, especially after finding out he has a “my character can’t lose” contract clause: Oh… wait. Yeah. Definitely a douche…

I'm pretty sure he brought the "my character cant lose" thing from wrestling to cinema. I never knew it existed in movies before him and now most action stars are putting it in their contracts. I remember there was WCW as a kid and they shut down due to awful ratings and one of the reasons was most of their top stars had the I cant Lose clause in their contracts and the writers of the show had to basically bend over for them. Because they could veto anything they told them to do that made them look weak. Now we have this insane behavior in movies.

bro there's only soo much you can do with cars. At some point after all those movies they would eventually have to move on to other things, it's only natural. It's soo annoying to see people complain without thinking first. Like cool cars again and again, would get boring at some point right? they have to keep it interesting by adding more elements.

The fast and furious franchise aside from Tokyo drift is mostly was mostly Paul Walker's movie's. The franchise started with his character driving and ended with him diving... The films weren't vin's or about the other characters it was his.

Imo it's as simple as more and more people waking up to the fact that Dwayne has never really been authentic. These days a lot people are fed up with the whole fakeness. There's nothing "real" about him, and he's made it abundantly clear that the only things he actually "stands for" are whatever piss off the least amount of people. Almost all Hollywood actors are shills for whoever or whatever company pays them. It doesn't matter if Dwayne legitimately hates a certain product or brand. As long as they're paying him, he'll do everything he can to try and trick his audience into thinking that it's something they should buy, and fortunately more people are seeing thru the b.s.

@levantz Yeah that's why I said _"Almost all Hollywood actors are shills for whoever or whatever company pays them"_ The point I was making was that while most of them do it to one degree or another, very few are as blatant & in your face about it as Dwayne is

@@mikeygraves16 Ryan Reynolds is the same way, yet people love him. I do think that it is possible he pissed off some high level executive who then in turn paid to have negative articles/information released. Powerful people can't completely control public perception anymore but they can still nudge it in one direction or another and in turn create a domino effect of bad publicity. For example, the fact that the Rock has a contract that says he can't lose. We don't even know if this is true, but where did it come from? If it is true who leaked it?

The real problem with Hobbs & Shaw is that it’s a Fast & Furious movie. Every Fast & Furious movie in my opinion, are just bad. And they only get worse and each sequel. This isn’t just a problem with this movie, it’s been a problem with every Fast & Furious movie since the first film. I’m surprised nobody else’s realizing that these movies are awful.

“Fast X: Part II” Can I say how much I dislike it when there’s a series of movies and they just go ahead and make the final part 1 and part 2? It should be just “Fast 11” It’s like when a show decides to make their final season broken up into 2 or 3 parts that are almost a year apart from each other. It’s not one season, that’s 2 or 3 seasons.

All the criticism towards this movie is totally valid, but I’m still glad it exists. There’s definitely a place in the industry for goofy, ott action movies that you can turn your brain off to and just enjoy. I put Michael Bay Transformers in the same category, and I love those movies.

I wasn't sure about watching this video, fearing it might just be clickbait, but I found it rather interesting, it even shine a positive light on the FF movies compared to this one, I can see myself agreeing on all your points, taken on a moment-by-moment basis there are nice, inventive scenes, but overall it doesn't feel memorable, I did not dislike it, but I rather rewatch other Statham movies like Transporter,Cranked,or Lock stock and 2 smoking barrels....though in this last one he is not the focus.
